Your favourite decade for music is...?

very tricky question...
I have the impression that "now" , there is a great amount of great music but: hidden, eclipsed by commercial shit and trends...
and it's like people discover truly interesting/different music but they keep it to themselves, hidden part of an alternative playlist ... yet they share the more "commercial" stuff....
why don't we share the real deal? ...are we afraid of judgement or image/label that much or what are the problems?

For me - the 60's, 70's and the classical periods... Which were left out of the poll.....

The music that most influences my own was released between 1977-1982. The post-punk, early new wave period. Which option am I supposed to choose?

The 80's were the best. I'll take Dokken over filthy cent any day foo!
The 60's were ok, but too dopey
70's suck because disco ruined everything. Bee G...s, still my most hated music thing of all time. No, even worse than kantya.
90's were great overall, but gave way to the "I'll do music my way after one popular record and I'll still be popular even though I totally suck wads of ass (pearl jam, looking at you)" ... and of course making flannel a fashion statement.
2000's.....meh, everyone went all rappa crappa.....which inevitably led to the death of music.

The death of music, eh? Bold words.
Totally forgot about the flannel culture. haha.
It still exists in some parts of America.

This list is based on how many people bought the artist's or band's music and the list may be factual fact. Disprove it if is inaccurate.
To me, the 1970's had the most "classic rock" artists and my MP3 and CD collection are full of that kind of music so I voted for that decade.
I rearranged the ordering of bands or artists according to my taste and put a line through the ones I don't care that much for.
Damn it, it seems my all-time fave, David Bowie, wasn't as successful in terms of selling his music but hey... Led Zeppelin (my 3rd all-time fave), in terms of the 1970's, made it to number one.
1960s
1. The Beatles
2. The Rolling Stones
3. Bob Dylan
5. Jimi Hendrix
4. The Beach Boys
1970s
1. Led Zeppelin
5. Pink Floyd
3. Fleetwood Mac
2. Eagles
4. Elton John
1980s
3. U2
2. Prince
5. Bruce Springsteen
1. Michael Jackson
4. Madonna
1990s
3. Nirvana
1. Garth Brooks
4. Celine Dion
5. Whitney Houston
2. Mariah Carey
2000s
4. Coldplay
1. Nickelback
2. Eminem
5. Britney Spears
3. Usher
