hi!
if you have purchased the Nine Volt Audio collection with the latest VST Buzz deal (or before than that...) then maybe you are interested to know i'm trying to develop a small kontakt template to organize the loops in a more convenient way.
the script is now at a very early stage and it will take some time to develop.

basically, i arranged a template in which you will load the loops and you can:

play the loop (of course)
change the loop via keyswitches in legato mode (without retriggering the loops)
transpose them
pan them

my kontakt scripting experience is nearly zero but nevertheless i got what i wanted!

for now i designed the script to specifically work with organ explosion and funky rex guitar samples, in which you have 2 different loops/parts in the same "style" to be played left and right. then you can change the parts or loop via keyswitches and make "songs" on the fly.

i feel the same script (with minor variations) could work also for the other NVA libraries but I have to check

now i'm trying to implement:
- waveform visualization (with player bar)
- slice control (don't know if i'll be able to do that!)

if you have any other idea i'll be happy to consider it.

i will share the template (NOT THE SAMPLES, OF COURSE!) for free. i think nothing prevents me to do this but let me know if there should be any problem.
you will have to load the sample by yourself according to the instruction given by the script, but it's very easy! just somewhat annoying... :)

Sounds interesting!

Watching. :)

How about an FX page for the Big Bad - Guitars and Bass [Direct]?
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

I can present you a very first beta, download it from here (sorry, no video for now! :) )

you have to use the samples from the funky guitars REX library (not provided here!)
if you place the nki file in the main funky guitar folder the patch should load without problems, otherwise you have to look for the right directory.

the patch works as follows:

with the keys B2 and C3 you start the loops (cyan keys). the loops are hold as long as the keys remain pressed. you can also use the sustain pedal. if you release and hit again these keys the loops are retriggered.

with the keys C1-C#1 / D1-D#1 / F1-F#1 etc... (green and light red keys) you select the loops. the loop pair (L/R) are arranged in nearby white/black keys. for this reason the E and B keys are not used.

if you hold B2 and C3 you can change the loops with the green/red keys without retriggering the loops. you can combine e.g. any white with any black keys

with keys in the range C4-B5 you transpose the loops (center=C5)

in the perf view you can just adjust the panning of the L/R loop.

You can have a look at the script but for now i don't commented it. but it's pretty simple so if you are into kontakt scripting you should understand it.

You can use the same patch to load different songs from NVA library.

if you know how to use kontakt, adapting the patch to different rex loops related to different songs is not difficult.
Keeping in mind that this script was made for funky guitar, you have to load the rex loops as follows:

place each loop in a separate group (very important)
place all the loops with label "a" in the B2 key
place all the loops with label "b" in the C3 key
all the "a" loops will overlap in B2 and all the "b" loops will overlap in C3
use the group "a - loop1" for the first rex file with label "a"
use the group "b - loop1" for the first rex file with label "b"
use the group "a - loop2" for the second rex file with label "a"
use the group "b - loop2" for the second rex file with label "b"
etc...

(hope it's clear!)

of course you can use the script freely and adapt it to your needs. just contact me if you make improvements! :)

if you have ideas or suggestions let me know!

I tried to add the waveform visualization but it turned out to be a mess to adapt it to a template. i could add it separately for each patch but it would have been too time-consuming...

Hi bonson,
That's exactly what I need.
Would you please renew the download link
