I've noticed for a while now that the statistics reported by Souncloud can vary by as much as %100 depending on where you access them.
F'instance: at the time of writing, on the main page of my account where you first land there is a recent track called "Dream Cloud". Under the waveform graphic it says 20 plays. But when I go to the statistics page and look at the plays for the week it says, for the same track, 38 plays.

Anyone have an answer? ( Apart from how crap Soundcloud is!)

I don't think that their statistics react in real-time. I've noticed that when I follow others, or people follow me, the follow count doesn't always change immediately.

And I have notice that I have comment for some of my tracks, and I see comment-icon for each track, but no any comments inside any track. SoundCloud as is

This could some times be attributed to removal of spam. I get a lot of comments like "!!!" "???" and random questions from profiles with one track about "Don't do this mistake on Soundcloud" and these profiles and their comments is removed shortly, but the stats remain.

They explained for a while stats were not corectly counted. They fixed that issue, but lost plays are still missing

I noticed significant stats boost overnight, so probably they updated play count as intended.

This stats are IMO broken or there is something cached in the wrong way since some time. In their blog there was something stated about this, so it's a known behaviour. It's not only the play count IMO also the count of the followers are a bit delayed/cached.
They had also network problems or a bug: Yesterday it shows me very often the message that my network connection seems to be disabled

I've started with backup some stuff to hearthis.at because I don't trust Soundcloud anymore. Too many hickups.

Soundcloud shitness related, I now have a track on my page on my own record label that I can't edit or delete as it's 'managed directly by it's rightsholder'

I have experienced that " likes " and especially followers are often offers to "boost" your stats. When I don't respond they stop following and likes are removed. Many times "followers" have no tracks of their own. I don't try to follow and do little to promote myself. Even so my stats fluctuate erratically.

Yeah I've noticed an increase in these lately also, I've started blocking/reporting them.

IMO this are some of this "Promotion" companies with the only goal to sell clicks/likes/comments/reposts... this "unbidden guests" with sometimes computer generated names following also some music related groups on Soundcloud/Facebook to find new "customers".

They have the most ATROCIOUS sound. Virtually ANYTHING on there sounds like it was mixed by the same person the quality is so bad!
