At least in some cases :ud:

On high notes filters 3 and 4 sound very distorted when using higher resonance, maybe aliasing, no idea.
2 and 5 sound the cleanest to me, relatively speaking.
1 also sound a bit dirty, but in a different way than 3 and 4.
With all of them there seems to be low resolution, I can hear the individual steps as the filter closes.

On lower notes I hear little difference, Frank Lee.

Not optimized is a euphemism, just loading the plugin maxes an entire core on my computer :hihi: Oddly, playing a note doesn't increase the load at all, seems like its is always playing even if there is no sound 8)
It is supposed to work like that, because, at least the filters, get calculated at the same time, to prevent people from judging by which is the most and the least CPU efficient filter, rather than going by the sound.

I just compared #4 to the filter in ProTone and I can say they sound equally good doing my basic filter modulation test. Maybe the RePro-1 sounds a tad brighter but it's hard to judge because I'm not getting any beating in the Alpha version. Great job though. It definitely sounds better than ProTone when cranking up the resonance with the filter modulation cranked. ProTone gets a crazy volume spike and it's not as pleasant sounding. So, I'm going to hand that round to RePro-1 for, but I can get 12 voices (maybe more) of ProTone and a kick ass plate reverb sim running without touching my CPU.

Dude, I know you few grands cost of hardware. Why do you start this miserable argument about CPU again. You can't afford to buy $400 cpu so you'd never run out of power but can afford to buy SE ATC-1 or P6 right?

Look, $400 cpu could run 8 instances of RePro without hiccups. Tried it yesterday.

The optimized version of the most expensive model uses around 5-10% per core on my machine whereas the non-optimized version of RePro-Alpha constantly uses 50-60%. I'd bet on factor 5-times-faster at least, if not 10 times faster for the final version and definitely nowhere near the CPU hunger of recent Roland releases (which I love sound-wise).

By the way. It was mentioned before and I copy that. Filter 1 is really close to my imaginary Formanta Polyvox filter sound - resonance artefacts are incredible and lovely. Would it be incorporated somewhere?

Polivoks filter is 12 dB LP/BP and the most f**ked up filter ever put in hardware. I'd be happy to model it, but I currently dont know how.

But this one is so harsh, edgy and at the same it's analog. I really love upper hiss: only osc 1: saw low note and F1 res: 9, cutoff ~8-9. It's possible to hear bass tone + incredible high frequency hiss. It's charmy and in between BS2 and MFB Kraftzwerg Sound.

That's the synth IL's Sawer is modeled after. I still have Sawer somewhere, but it a hog. No idea if it is a good emulation as I don't know the original. But the saw in Sawer does sound very good, that much I remember :)

If you have eurorack some company are selling modules and diy kits that are really close to original sound.

Don't get me wrong: I would never part with my Polivoks!

I just wished I could model its filter.

You mean Harvestman? It's not that close, but then maybe that's just the natural differences between the individual circuits.
