e-music godfather KLaus Schulze soundtrack 'Body Love' was presumably some sort of porn

on Independent Film Channel last night they played Russ Meyer's 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls'
now that was a wretched soundtrack, but very much in period. Strawberry Alarm Clock was playing the first party scene at Z-Man's.

maybe not porn by some standards but still I would give Russ Meyer a lot of credit for expanding the genre

and what was the name of the bartender? -- a detail that escaped me previously Martin Bohrman -- yes that Martin Bohrman -- later to be in some other Russ Meyer movie -- the same actor, the same name running a gas station in the southwest as Martin Bohrman's Super Service abbreviated on the signs naturally as Martin Bohrman's SS. Mr Meyer's cartoonish obsession with Nazis was apparently in play throughout his fabled career. porn with any humor at all is rare.

Russ Meyer, by design or by accident, has made some astonishing films, truly entertaining and original.

i failed to mention that 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls' was co-authored by noted film critic Roger Ebert.
there was a hilarious interview with Russ Meyer in the Onion media section a year or so ago with a few stories from the time those two worked together
