I have Live 9 Standard with a separate license of M4L. Do you guys think it's worth it to upgrade to the full Suite? I feel tempted by Sampler and Operator but I already have Komplete 10 so I don't want to have too many redundant or overlapping tools...

Operator is nice, Collision gets some use here as well. They're both extremely useful for percussion and fx within a drumrack.

Sampler is definitely nice to have although I usually reach for Simpler. It's also good to have the additional content, sure Komplete is likely better (I have 9), but it's so much more convenient to browse for some samples from within Live.

That said, there is some overlap, and I can't say that I make full advantage of Suite all the time, but I would get it again (if only for the instruments).
I got it in a sale, so that made the decision somewhat easier. If the current sale is still on, and with the discount you get from owning M4L, I'd probably go for it.

Suite has high quality instruments... easily worth the price imo

I got Live 9 Suite secondhand right after the release of 9.2 for less than 1/2 the price of new.
The recent filter upgrades (by Andrew Simper of Cytomic) give Sampler and Operator (as well as Simpler & Auto Filter) a whole new lease on life.

After ~10 years of jumping from one DAW to another, I've settled on Live as my main squeeze. It's not perfect but has staggering possibilities and is simple enough to master within a few months of regular use. I also have Komplete and while there's overlap, NI & Ableton kit definitely have their own flavor. That said, I find NI sample libraries to be more useful and sonically/stylistically diverse than Live's.

The extra M4L content is worth the upgrade imho. Drum/Instrument Racks, Sampler, Operator, Looper etc make it pretty much a no-brainer. How much is your upgrade price?

I already have M4L, Drum/Instrument Racks, and Looper with my current license. My current upgrade price would be $199. The two things I'm mostly interested in (in Suite) are Sampler and Operator.

If this is the case, I would highly recommend bypassing the upgrade and buying Logic for the same price. You not only add two samplers (one in Alchemy, one stand-alone,) but you also get 50G+ in Content plus a fleet of VIs and EFX that are as good as some third party offerings, if not better. I use Live with Logic and am really happy; I frequently rewire Session View into Logic, and Live Loops is coming to the platform too. Logic has an excellent arranger.

Some key inclusions:

1 Vintage Organ. Vintage Clav. Electric Piano. --- > VIs, not sample based
2 EXS24 Sampler --- > Vienna style orchestral, drum kits, bass, synth, Vintage Mellotron, etc. Mass number of third party sample libraries including big named pianos such as Imperfect Samples
3 Alchemy 2 -- > on par with Omnisphere, 14G of content
4 Other Synths ---> 7-10 or so in total including sample modeling, VA, FM, WT
5 Delay Designer ---> on par with echoboy minus the saturation (just use another plugin, I use Klanghelm)
6 Space Designer ---> Convolution, Bricasti SDIRs freely available, as well as many LEX models including the 480L, now Eventide and others
7 Compressor --> Not quite the same as Glue, but additional models including FET and Opto, dbx
8 EQ----> Similar to EQ 8, more like fab or DMG in its GUI
9 AMPS & Pedals on par with 3rd party offerings, plenty of EFX in addition to the other separate plugins
10 Drum Machine Designer ---> think Battery ---> front end to Ultrabeat (drum sequencer / modeling or sample based instrument)
11 Drum Kit Designer ---> think BFD ---> front end to EXS24 kits
12 Apple Loops --- > Key Sig & Tempo encoded, similar to ACID
13 VCAs, Groups, AUX Buses, Track Stacks

Yeah, for 200 I'd also strongly recco the upgrade
I used LIVE standard for many years before the upgrade to suite and I'm sad that I didn't do this earlier

Operator is a total MONSTER-out-of-the-cage for pads, bass and keys(the DX7piano emulation is so lovely)
Sampler is very powerful at stretching/morphing audio - using it is nothing like a typical "sampler"
Collision has some incredibly interesting uses for both pads and percussion - try re-sampling it into Sampler
not to mention the EFX upgrades that come with Suite
- AMP and Cabinet - interesting for a bass gtr - not so crazy about it as a gtr amp app
- Corpus
- Convolution Reverb
...seems like there was another cool efx that I didn't have before ...

Standard. The host itself is very good. Suite, too much deep house fanboy content with few devices. And buggy m4l.... ughhh no thanks.

PC-Version? Or do we have to buy a Mac for that?

I think you get several M4L packs with Suite that don't come with standard. There is the new monosynth, polysynth and drum synth as well a convolution reverb and a ton of fx. Sampler and Operator just got new filters by Cytomic. There are also masses of drum sounds and racks included, as well as loads of extra sample content. Well worth $199 imho.

@musiclover55547 Logic is Mac only. I presumed the OP is on PC as he didn't mention his OS

Wouldn't Sampler and Operator be redundant or, at least, broadly overlapping with Kontakt and FM8?

Yes, but I would use Simpler / Sampler and Drumracks any time over Kontakt or Battery. But that is of course a preference of mine. It's just much easier to use if you use your own samples, or want to construct your own kits.
Operator is a tougher sell, but it still has some nice tricks up its sleeve that sets it apart from FM8. Let me put it like this, I have and use both.

That said, there is overlap, definitely.

If you don't need M4L and already have a few vst instruments/fx that you like - the standartversion is enough.

the new cytomic filters are incredible !
sampler/autofilter,max4live lfo, woo ! great sounding, good workflow
the only thing missing is the ability to route separate midi channel & voices or insert an midi vst device before an instrument ,

no daw are perfect.
i would like to see a reaper,cubase live flstudio, logic in one daw, a dream......
suite will bring a lot of additional flexibility,right, depend your need and you budget
edit: sapler is a beast but consume some cpu for complicate patch but the filters are incredible, operator is easy and great sounding, perfectly integrate with live but if you have fm8...., it depend if you prefer an all integrate synstem or use vsti....
