This is a musical journey into hell. Starting with 7 seconds of spin - then spinning out of control, ending with the bombs falling on Babylon.

Based on just one 7 second sample from a George W Bush speech where he says "We've had no evidence that Saddam Hussain was involved in september 11th". Then treated with a variety of granular effects in Reaktor - the various takes layered and reassembled in Tracktion.

No synths or other sounds involved - all the sounds including the tonal ones are derived Bushes voice treated in various ways - I never realised he could sound so musical.

very cool piece of work.
if a little dangerous

you know what i mean and where this thread may go,but all im saying is nice work.very cool sounds out of a voice,i love stretching and morphing vocs myself

Thanks. I've been experimenting a lot with vocal samples too - Cameleon has interesting possibilities too in that respect.

I think (and hope other's see this) it gets a bit chilling and apocalyptic at the end.

I really liked the synth sounds used in the piece, and think that it is very good. Too much for my nervous system though, just got me too agitated

. I like the 'bubble' sounds as well, that was done with skill. Not my thing, but I think it's good.

In a way this made me think of Stever Reich's 'My name is' but then done with state of the art plugs.

And yes, this sounds quite musical indeed. Top work delivered here aMUSed. It's amazing what you can do without touching one note.

Thanks - I keep meaning to listen to more Steve Reich, I do like that sort of music but haven't heard that piece.

I've put a whole page of "music" and noises on my site now if anyone wants a look - some of it is very rough and sketchy but I'm getting more confident:

Interesting piece and concept here. very musical sounds
and grainular textures.
