..to believe that Muzys is still alive...

I could not buy it (I WANTED BUT I COULD NOT! ), but I use Computer Muzys with its limitations and I find it a really useful tool for my musical creations.
I hoped and waited.. but now, I think that it would be more serious to update forums and official site with an official 'good bye - the game is over'...

I'm very disappointed.. because I consider Muzys a great product

good bye...

PS... it would be such a good thing to be completely wrong...

Jo did not become rich or could even stay alive from his active muzys base ... But I still think it's unfair and tactless how he handled his escape from .... us.

I can not imagine it would be impossible to give some transparant information on what is going on.

What's the use of this forum. the last two pages are just about gessing what's going on.

Close it down. there is no one asking for help here anymore or anything. it's just an archeology site

I was thinking exactly the same just before I saw there were new posts...

/Sigh/ I'll be sticking with Muzys 3.14 until I find stuff I want to do it won't let me. (MIDI out from VSTs is probably going to be it -- once I find some use for it, that is.)

Of course, if Live4 was like $39, then I'd buy it now... Maybe Ableton could do a cross-grade deal... *dream*...

Not that I can see feeling so involved with Live as I've done with Muzys, of course. /Sigh/

I'm sharing all of your sentiments. I'm finding it hard to think up a reason why Jo wouldn't just come straight out and say it was over. It would have saved us all so much time and hassle. The whole end of Muzys seemed rather confusing and abrupt. Furthermore, Jo seemed to be hinting in his messages that something more was to come, but then gave no further indication that that was true. Very weird.

yes very dissapointing since i consider muzys to be the easiest midi app / vst host out there. and it was just about to get good, with a new playroom.

a shame. how could he have made more money from the project?

muzys was one of the programs always on my watchlist...

what I don't understand is why the site is still up? and why you can still download the demo? I mean, if it's gonna end.. end it aready right?

According to Whois...Muzys.com is registered through October of this year. I wonder if it will get renewed???? You may have to wait until then to get answer, you probably won't hear one direct from Jo.

as a former Muzys user (I really did enjoy using it) I have to express my sadness that it's ended up like this. Muzys could have been KING of sequencers. Jo could have made alot of money with it, because of the Computer Music magazine association - but Jo chose the wrong time to shut down shop, when so many people were looking to buy the full version.

It is a great product, but it never had the chance to grow to it's full potential. I've well and truly moved on to other sequencers (eXT, Tracktion) out of necessity but Muzys had it's own special way of working that i loved

While I was ready to ditch Muzys now Ive gone with Live, Im going to see how the two can be used together to compensate for each others weaknesses ie Muzys has much better midi editing than Live and has a similar jamming approach to it. Also, using Live has taught me some ideas that can be transferred to Muzys that werent obvious before. Maybe Ill hang on to Muzys a bit longer :)

CJ - I tried the Live4 demo and got that "Hey, I could do this more easily in Muzys, why didn't I think of it before" thing... :-)

But Live4 does look like the nearest alternative: shame about the price. (I've a list of things I want _more_ than a new sequencer...)

It's a shame Muzys turned out this way.
