I do not deny, a good idea, but I for example would prefer to developer has concentrated its forces on the optimization of perfomance of an existing product, I really believe that IRCAM modules can be optimized, as well some moments (cpu usage related) in non-ircam modules .

Yes, but I would like to have the option of being able to integrate them too.

@otristan
is there a possibility of making the 'Mapper Editor' non-modal?
I find it to be very useful for modulations and so i use it alot...
it's just a bit tedious having to always close it again before being able to edit other parameters.

Adding X,Y pads f.e. with unlimited destinations would be great.
Falcon is awesome but could need more performance goodies.

Well, I finally finished my review for Bedroom Producers Blog :tu:

@Sound Author: I find that when you consider something to be perfect, you take away its dynamism. Why still take the time to work on upgrades if it is already perfect, mmm? Isn't 1.1.1 a lot better than 1? To me it is because now I can use everything, including the Ircams Stretch and Scrub without any problem.

I would add another five though, for a category that is usually forgotten in reviews: after sales. The helpdesk. They merit a five indeed. To me, this is very important.

One more dumb question, if you don't mind too terribly: Is there a compelling reason (or any reason at all) to get MachFive 3 if you have Falcon?

I was originally thinking that I might be able to save Kontakt libraries as MachFive files and play them in Falcon (with all those glorious effects, etc.), but M5 only seems to read up to Kontakt 4.

Besides translation to Falcon, is there any reason to own MF3? What about the sounds that come with MF3? Are they any good?

I'm sure this was answered somewhere along the line in this 217-page thread, but hell, that's a lot to read (even searching MachFive brings up oodles of pages!).

Please forgive my basic questions. I sort of happened on Falcon. I've been considering it for a while, but never seriously looked into it, and technical information about it on UVI's site seems to be a bit thin.

Check my FAQ thread linked in the OP. Falcon has everything there is in M5 and it can read all M5 sounds, you don't need M5.

Thank you. I did read that but I still wasn't quite clear. :)

I'll stop thinking about M5, now. :)

I updated the FAQ-thread to make it even clearer.

Yeah, now I can't wait to get my hands on Falcon! Why, oh why does UVI need to manually approve transfers? :dog:

Falcon isn't perfect.

- The soundlibrary has no tags nad makes finding sounds hard. NI does this far better.
- The FM Oscillator could have 6 Operators to be a DX7
- Falcon can not be used as an FX plugin for external sources
- It's not THAT efficient on CPU with some sounds
- It doesn't have the sample editing possibilities of Kontakt

Nevertheless, I love it and it is very good :) Could be better, though. still.

Well, for example I always find the use of custom folders a more convenient method than tag system, in my taste it is just the excess extra fields in the interface, what caused a some perplexity for me for example in Alchemy browser or the same in NI products, and I have never used these tag features. But i do not argue, maybe just a matter of habit.
