Not sure why the osc and stats are saying 'no view selected'? What does that mean?
Ah, so you're using it with one monitor only? Yeah I guess you can't get rid of it then, I'll think of something.

The oscilloscope and stats are not finished yet, so they're just there as placeholders. I'll create a FAQ soon in the op.

I just saw this as cross-reference on BPB (via Twitter). You definitely got my attention.

Questions:
- will we see more visualization modes (like different FFT)?
- will we see a "sync to host" mode for the Oscilloscope View (turning it into a waveform view)
- will we see meter bargraphs?
- will we maybe see a 3D Waterfall view (unless that is already included, didn't check yet)
- will we maybe see a multi-channel version of this (so that multiple instances communicate with each other, showing individual frequency spectrums or Goniometer areas)

Wow, I didn't even know that review. No idea this even propagated out these forums. Very kind words from the author!

Most probably. It's definitely something I want to do, also want to investigate wavelets etc.
- will we see a "sync to host" mode for the Oscilloscope View (turning it into a waveform view)
Probably not, as it will require implementation-specific knowledge per-host.
- will we see meter bargraphs?
Yes.
- will we maybe see a 3D Waterfall view (unless that is already included, didn't check yet)
Yes, I pretty much only need to write the shader.
- will we maybe see a multi-channel version of this (so that multiple instances communicate with each other, showing individual frequency spectrums or Goniometer areas)
Maybe, at some point... I like the idea (also how Melda does it).

Post

Not only Melda Production does it, but also BlueCat Audio.

Regarding the Oscilloscope View (Waveform view), I'd love to see something like Vengeance Sound SCOPE or betabugs Oszillos Mega Scope. Though I do understand the "host knowledge issue".

If you go for meter bargraphs, what meters do you want to port?
Do you plan to offer full configuration capabilities like reference level, weighting filter, color codes, etc? I'd love to see such features.

Else, the review on BPB surprised me myself. I'm not up to speed on certain topics recently, but it's nice to see Tomislav being busy and informed on that end. Good that I'm signed up to his Twitter feed.

I'll definitely keep an eye on your plugin creation. It looks like an interesting concept and could mean some serious competition to other freeware analyzers (Poligon Audio Sound RIder, anyone?), and the big league like DMGAudio's Dualism (once more view modes and meter bargraphs are implemented). And I could finally step away from old Elemental Audio InspectorXL (or rather it's recent incarnation, which I don't find that great at all). And since RME's DigiCheck feels like "being on hold".... this is a welcome creation.

Ah, hmm are you talking about synchronization to host BPM? That will be an included feature. It's hard to tell what I'll include for the meters, but knowing myself I will probably add way too much unnecessary stuff :)

Thanks for the words, anyway. I do plan on keep making plugins like these, but not surprisingly, it's a lot of work. This took two years of development, in between studies and work.

Post

Yes, sync to host BPM.

Meter wise, to me as absolute minimum:
Digital Meter (with or without True Peak/Oversampling Mode)
RMS Meter (or rather VU) with variable time window (so that 300ms/VU and 600ms Dorrough/K-System v1 is possible)

People would definitely go nuts and ask about the ITU-R BS.1770-x specs as well (or rather: EBU R-128, a "preset" of the ITU-R BS.1770-x specs). Therefore weighting filters for the meter. Especially if people intend to use this "suite" as mastering tool.

Custom color codes are an absolute must have for me, same with reference level. But this is definitely a world in itself...

FFT, Goniometer (Oscilloscope), Spectrogram View at various analysis modes... that is already a lot! We'll definitely see what the future will bring. Maybe this will turn into a full VST test suite incl. test signals for various purposes... who knows. We're still at Alpha 0.2.5 - and it's already looking promising.

Nice one!

Hi, it looks very cool. Unfortunately I've not been able to try it as Logic's AU Validation Tool is struggling to scan it.

I'm running Logic 10.2.2 on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 with OS X El Capitan 10.11.4

- The graphics are very laggy when I move my mousepointer around. (Edit: Span has the same problem, so it might be an Bitwig issue.)
Just did a quick check in ableton. The animations are smooth there. So it's a bitwig related problem, that doesn't only affect signalizer...

I had that problem, too. The first scan seemed to hang, so I force quit the scanner. I think went in to the plugin manager and re-scanned Signalizer manually and it worked fine. Hopefully that'll work for you, too!

Ok. I'll give that a try. Cheers

well I've fallen at the first fence - I can't even download it. Right click on the binary and save as gives me an empty zip folder and nothing else I tried even gets me that far. When I tried the download option it talks about checking out a branch?

I'm on Windows 7. Pity, I'd like to try this, I'm running Cubase Pro 8.

Thank you Janus for this already very useful and beautiful plugin (really cool with a second monitor display).

As somebody else already mentioned, a +3 dB (pink noise) slope option for the spectrum would be fantastic.

Thanks guys. I will check out Bitwig when I get chance. Personally, I haven't had any troubles with auval, but I'll update OS and Logic soon, then we'll see if I experience anything. If the program crashes in any way, Signalizer will produce debug output that will help me localize the issue. You can find the info by reading the read me.

Yes, it's not a very user friendly system at the moment, sorry about that. Click the file you want in the index (src/Releases), and then click the 'view raw' link in the middle.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I'll include that soon then, probably :)
