Very cool Luca! It would be nice to have a reverse option :)

Thank you! Reverse is definitely something I'm going to add in the next update!

Man, that's amazing module! All-in-one.

What does "shimmer" actually do?

Thanks! The shimmer pitch shift the signal one octave up and recirculate it through the loop, so the signal will get shifted and smeared over and over. Check the demo video to get a better idea of what it does.

I demoed an earlier version of Polaris and thought it was very good, but I just didn't think I needed it...then I demoed v1.1 and bought it almost immediately!
Polaris actually sounds really interesting running through the new Eventide Tverb. Getting some very cool effects.

Post

Yes, it just keeps getting better and better - I already had loads of reverb plugins but Polaris became really comprehensive and at this intro price it's a steal - like totally!

Post

I read it was compatible with xp sp3. well, can't get it running either in savihost (I test load all new plugins with it, and in most cases plugins that don't load here won't load anywhere else) or cantabile 2.

would you mind restoring xp compatibility? the install itself seems to perform well. I deselected both 64bit and aax32. after that I tried with the 64bit install. savihost refuses to load as before, cantabile at least distinguishes between 32 and 64bit (and refuses to load, of course).

Hey kylie,

the dll is built with the "xp" version of the libraries, so it should work under XP SP3. I'm on holiday right now, but as soon as I get back to work (next mon), I'll test it with both savihost and cantabile.

Best,
Luca

So you were not involved in the development, like for The Abuser?

Polaris GUI reminds me of AudioThing plugs though

Nope, Luca did a great job all on his own, including the GUI ;)

it also doesn't show up in wavelab or studio one 2.

have a nice holiday, and thanks for watching the thread anyway ;)
as long as it is within the time frame for the intro discount, all is fine.

On XP SP3? I'll check that as soon as possible!

Thanks! Carlo did a wonderful job helping me with the first plugins, but starting from TS-1 I were able to do all by myself.

Thank you all, guys!

Make sure that you are building the VSTs as "Multi-threaded" as opposed to "Multi-threaded DLL" in Visual Studio. The "Multi-threaded" option will cause the build to include DLLs that may be missing on some systems. I don't remember the exact location in Visual Studio where you select this (I'm typing from my MacBook Pro), but this will help with DAWs that aren't built with these DLLs, for both 32-bit and 64-bit VSTs.

Congratulations on the release of Polaris, BTW!

Thank you very much, Sean. Your work and passion for the dark art of reverbs are a continous inspiration to me :)
Back to the thread, I'm building with the 140xp libraries, with /MT. It should include the runtime necessary for the plugin to be recognized under XP, right?

Thanks again.

exactly. while it should not be a showstopper for you in general it would be nice, nevertheless, to have it back working (as advertised).
I did not expect you (or anyone) to maintain backwards compatibility, and to be honest - it doesn't exactly apply enough (soft) pressure to finally switch to a more recent os and to render that compatibility obsolete - but on the other hand, I'm happy you still do. ;)
