Here is my submission. I haven't mixed this style before; always the nice thing about these KVR Mix Competitions! Tried to mix appropriately for the genre.

Hey, everyone!

This is my mix for eritracks’s All We Ever Were.

WAV:

WAV: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_g4Bq ... sp=sharing

For this mix I went for a more “vintage” style, so the track is more midrange oriented.

The drums are inspired by Pink Floyd’s, which is more natural and not extremely punchy like more modern mixes (although I didn't pan the kick and snare left and right like on PF’s Fearless. That’s pretty distracting lol).

I didn’t change the arrangement but I did mute some of the tracks (i.e., percussion, guitars) during some sections, in order to build up the energy towards the end.

As for FX, I subtly mixed a flanger with the organ sound to create more depth, used a room reverb on all tracks, a plate reverb on vocals and a combination of delays on vocals, guitars and piano.

Mix buss has tape and console emulation and a smidge of compression.

Had a great time doing it!
Good luck, fellow mixers!

This was a really great track to mix! :tu:

I liked the stems they way they sounded, so I didn't change them too much. Most work was done with EQing, compression and subtle saturation.
Just the organ sound was changed more dramatically via a rotary effect, which I personally think sounds really awesome on that sound.
The lead vocals got a slap back delay and were distorted a touch. I didn't bury them in the mix, as I like they way they sound and I don't think there is a need to disguise them (I did some very subtle pitch corrections though).

Anyway, here is my mix:

I love it, you did a great job extracting the best bits of the track and mixing it in a very chill way. :) :)

Hi, this is my mix, i used the harrison mixbus, which i once bought but never used for a complete mix, i used a lot of the built in fx and some acusticaudio plugins, Pink and Nebula, i tried to make it sound vintage, just a very little bit valhalla vintageverb (what else ;) ), some echos from psp, and a lot of saturation and compression, hope you like it:

It would have been a fun song to mix, but I just had too much on my plate to participate in this one :-( Good luck to all who ARE participating!

Just damn. I'm blown away. These sound GOOD. I'm so sincerely pleased to hear this song through your mixes. I know it's a contest and all, but thank you for taking the time.

I've got the mixes lined up, level matched, and I've started critical listening. Obviously as soon as I get it all together, I'll get feedback out, and a top 6 or 7 for round 2. This is going to be tough.

btw lolilol1975 can you please make your WAV downloadable?

Thanks again.
