as far as i'm concerned, there doesn't need to be. still one of the best "analog" emulations out there, criminally underrated.
let me guess... you want them to add supersaws, unison, and wavetables?

XILS 3 was very good, but they managed to update that to XILS 4

So why not PolyKB III ?
Some hands on suggestions:
Less CPU intensive
Resizeable GUI
Removal of dongle, use serial (like for PolyKBII Player)

It is resizable. Or do you mean more size options? (It has 3 already)

My PolyKBII Player GUI can't be resized, so I thought PolyKB II could not either.

I agree it's the only VSTi I own that feels like I'm tweaking an Analog Synth, it's magnificent. I would love to see an update though with a a Mod Matrix and updated sequencer (it's a bit buggy yet very clever). Having said that a Mod Matrix may detract from it's originality in sound design, sometimes less is more.jbuonacc wrote:as far as i'm concerned, there doesn't need to be. still one of the best "analog" emulations out there, criminally underrated.

It is a beautiful instrument. Especially combined with Julian Ray's Kobold bank - which I think is indispensable if you have this plugin. I also find the sequencer fiddly to use though but apart from that it's my favourite XILS synth.

Actually, Xils 4 is a double Xils 3 with interconnexions between the 2 synthesizers, recreating the protoptype EMS 1000. Both Xils 3 & 4 can still be purchased, and are continuously developped. The Xils 3 is in version 2.0 since last year iirc. (There was never a Xils 1 or Xils 2 btw, it was Xils 3 from the start)Numanoid wrote:XILS 3 was very good, but they managed to update that to XILS 4

Then, you don't need a physical dongle to use the PolyKB II. You can use the soft Ilok version, and even install it on two different computer (Soft Ilok is a kind of c/r protection, similar to NI C/R -as i see it-)
And, finally, you can upgrade your PKBII player to the full PKB II at anytime if you wish so.

At that price, it's a bargain, IMO.Numanoid wrote:My mind's eye is omnipresentEspecially when it comes to sale deals

Worth getting, lovely sounding synth and finally a way to manage the presets. Unfortunately categories need a bit of work, I noticed synth pads for example gives me lots of arps and sounds that are definitely not pads. I hope the addon banks will also get converted to NKS.
