Waldorf Largo, PPG Wave 3.V and Waldorf Edition 2 are "NKS ready" now

Waldorf just called me and we are checking the official downloads for Waldorf Edition 2 now. The files i had tested here recently were OK (on Windows 10, no Mac here...).....

Both Waldorf and NI are currently checking the downloads of the new 2.2.0 version.

BTW it's around to 23:00 here in Germany now so usually nobody should be really working at that time, at least not at the official support...

Thanks for taking the time to reply. The Mac file I downloaded from the "Redeem Now" URL sent from NI, directed me to the older Mac version (1.3.0). This was not the location you've posted above. I didn't look at the file name....I just clicked on the download button and went through the procedure. Apparently I had just wasted the coupon and/or activation codes on the wrong installer that NI sent me to.

Starting over, I went to the proper Waldorf download site (which you listed above), logged in and entered the coupon code again....which responded by publishing the exact same activation code that was previously sent. I downloaded and ran the proper Mac Edition 2 and was presented with a "wrong code" prompt from the plug-in (PPG or Attack...same thing).

To sum up, the problem seems to be that the initial NI "Redeem" URL takes you to the wrong place and if you just blindly download and install the Mac version from there, you probably (like me) won't notice it is the wrong version you are wasting your codes on.

When I backtracked through the process, I read the file names and it would appear that the Windows version was correct and the Mac was wrong. You may want to pass this info along to Waldorf.

I will pass for two reasons:

1. Largo is what I'm in interested in, but I already have Blofeld. I also have NI Massive which has a different character but sill the same level/category with Blofeld (design and sound).

2. e-licenser protection. I don't have a dongle and won't buy one (NZD 59 here!!) just to plug it for a software to operate!, and I already uninstalled all e-licenser related software (and all Waves plugins).
Synths from NI, Arturia, u-he, ...etc all are using a friendly protection and they are top quality alternatives, so why looking at something else with unfriendly protection.

If they change their protections scheme to a friendly one, I mostly would buy Largo (and maybe Nave).

You can use soft eLicenser too, then you don't have to buy or plug in a dongle. You can only use and install it on one machine then though.

Do you actually like Blofeld's interface? Largo's is much more friendly and quicker to create patches on.

The Largo e-licenser only requires a computer, you don't need a dongle. All Waldorf software is this way. Your computer will act as one for you. I wish all companies that want some sort of ilok protection would use e-Licenser with the option to use your computer as the dongle. It's the best for users and the companies I think. I'm not a fan of the usb ilok either, but I'm happy Waldorf has gone the way they have.

Dang it. I was hoping I could make a patch in Largo and send it over to the Blofeld... Why can't Waldorf make that compatible? Seems like they could make more money for people who prefer the Largo interface over Blofeld's, but want to record with the Blofeld's DACs.

It's because Largo and Blofeld don't necessarily share the same features. Nor do some things sound the same (effects are better on Largo).

But they are so close in design. It would be great if sending patches from Largo to the Blofeld would work, maybe somehow subtracting out the extras of the Largo like sub Osc, FX, etc. before sending to the Blofeld. I wouldn't even mind if it messed with the LFO or something when sending. You could just make minimal adjustments to compensate in the Blofeld after you send it.

Yes, I know I can install it with a software e-licenser. I already have Cubase Elements 8, Padshop Pro and Retrologue (and some others which I uninstalled). But I have two PCs (and might have a third in the near future!) and in this case I must buy a hardware dongle (and even if I buy it, I can't use two machines simultaneously! This is useful sometimes when you have the desktop to work and then check something in the laptop without quitting the software and unplug the dongle, which I do sometimes with my host and synths).

Well, I'm used now for Blofeld interface/workflow. Actually, browsing the presets is easy. I find near what I want and edit it.
But I agree that for making presets from scratch is a little bit painful. For that I use an excellent free editor (for Windows) which make it fairly easy

Upon closer inspection, you can clearly see they are directing Mac and PC users to the wrong files. The Mac installer dates to 2010.

Just noticed that the links are for the old Waldorf Edition 1 which should no longer be sold and of course the serial for v2 will not work there.
That link was even for an older version of v1 as the last one before v2 was v1.7.4.
Really got no clue why they should have sent links for the old v1.

The link at the official Waldorf website seems to be for version 2.2.0 which should be correct:

I just downloaded the Mac file and the file shows the correct version 2.2.0. Personally i could only test the Windows version here and the Installer for that seems to work nicely here (including that from the link above).

You also have to be sure to download the full version not the LE. Currently there does not seem to be a LE version for the latest update (v2.2.0).

Not sure about the "activation code" (this is what i would call the codes necessary for the eLicenser protection of some other Waldorf plugins) but the protection for Waldorf Edition 2 seems to be a simple serial (+ a user name which usually is the e-mail address).
Here at the Windows version i have to enter both my e-mail address and the serial inside a pop-up window at the plugin and then the Waldorf Edition 2 plugins are working. Not sure if this is somehow different at OSX.

But TBH I'm just waiting for these little hiccups to be solved to pull the trigger.
