Ah, that could be a problem. Personally, I can't justify paying money for a preset, unless maybe it was a super huge pack. :?

Edit:
Holy c--p, just downloaded a couple of the free soundbanks off of the Spire page, and my mind has been fully blown. Specifically Factory Soundbank 2, it sounds incredible, I honestly had no idea this synth had a stepper. Always wanted to play with steppers. :P Think I'll go with Spire unless something better comes up.

Only thing that seems odd is that I've drawn out some curves on said stepper, set it to modulate the first filter cutoff, and nothing happens. The orange indicator on the stepper doesn't even move, am I doing something wrong?

haha what a question... open to many interpretations. My question to you is, do you know Daichi Synth1 like the back of your hand? I think you know where I am going with this ;-)

I'm not sure I do, which question are you responding to?

Sorry, I was answering the thread question of a $100 Synth... Synth1 is free and quite capable!

Stupid question, but have you set the knob to determine the amount of modulation?

This is a incredible deal right now for a really nice synthesizer. Requires E-licenser, but this is a real nice workhorse for the money. It's on sale for $74.50 when it originally sells for $149.00

Hi new. I'm brandon, and welcome to KVR. :) I'm actually kind of new too, but you can still call me brandon.

Have you looked into BeepStreets Sunrizer synth?
It's always the first affordable synth i recommend. It's intuitive and it sounds like a $145.00 synth imo. There is a demo if you have not already tried it. - http://www.beepstreet.com/plugins/sunrizer

Pretty much suited for any level of synth knowledge or lack there of.. again, just an opinion.

Good luck on your search.

If you mean the slider, yes.

Hi, Brandon. :P Thanks for the welcome.

No, I haven't heard anything about Sunrizer, I'll definitely check it out. Looks promising, impressively low pricepoint!

My downloads folder is slowly filling up with various demo VSTs...

Ah, yeah, stupid me, the stepper doesn't have a quick assign like the LFO's. Well, should work then really. SRC1 set to the stepper, and TRG1 set to the filter cutoff? And (another stupid question), did you choose a filter at all, because if you init, there's no filter chosen per default?

Somehow managed to fix it by messing with various knobs and buttons. For some reason, the orange light above the stepper still doesn't move, but it's not that big a deal for demoing purposes. :P

That sucks, but it happens to all of us sooner or later. There will always be a sale or a special deal. Like karma it evens out in the end.

That you bought it at full price would mean that you really wanted it, and put it to good use :)

Zexila wrote:Which DAW do you use?

I use Studio One Artist, came free with my AudioBox USB.(The standard AudioBox, not the 22VSL)
I also use Live 7.0.18, which technically belongs to my father but he lets me use one of the licenses on my computer, but Studio One fits my workflow better overall. The Artist version of S1 doesn't allow me to use my own VSTs, but that's why I still switch between DAWs. I can't really justify spending $80 to unlock VST capability in S1 when I can easily bounce my synths between DAWs.
If your main DAW is S1 Artist, then I suggest to download Reaktor 5 Player (Reaktor 6 won't do). Then buy Razor and Monark from the Market place here in KVR (mostly will cost you less than $100 together). You can also download Reaktor Factory synths which are free and has a powerful wavetable synth (Carbon 2).

You can use the same setup with S1 Artist (which Reaktor 5 would appear and also Kontakt 5 players). You can find them in Komplete 8 Players here:
http://www.native-instruments.com/en/pr ... e-players/

Razor and Monark are from the best synths out there and can do a lot of sounds easily. They are my absolute favourites and I can live only with them :P
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

This sounds interesting, definitely going to give the demos a try. Two for the price of one, that's the kind of shiz I love. :-o And these will all work with S1 Artist? I know I've gotten Guitar Rig to show up in the effects area, I'm guessing because one of the NI Player bundles was originally bundled with S1(Or, atleast, according to my audiobox manual) And, just out of curiosity, why Kontakt 5 over Kontakt 6? The whole Reaktor/Kontakt thing always confuses me... Komplete, I know, but that's about it. :hihi:
The promotional pics of Razor make me think of the crazy oscillators in Serum, hyped to check it out.
Edit
Reaktor, not Kontakt.. :dog:

Edit #2:
I'm dumb.. I can't seem to find a place to download Reaktor 5, the link on NI's site leads to Reaktor 6.

Edit #3:
If I were to purhcase a copy of Reaktor, would it include the both the synths you mentioned?
