Prince believed in the chem-trails conspiracy and that chem-trails made people angry. How long would he have lasted in Hyde Park?
Anyhoo, my fav Prince song was when doves cry.

All these musical greats dying.... made me wonder if Prince, and others, had accounts here at KVR. Who here sounded like he/she could be Prince. Or how about David Bowie? Are these things verifiable? Are the greats too busy or too lofty to be posting stuff on internet forums?
Seriously, and no offense or comedy intended, but didn't Chuck E. Jesus stopped posting here at KVR after Jerry Garcia died? I've read a handful of Chuck's posts and for some reason his posts reminds me of Tommy Chong and Jerry Garcia. Not enough data? Anyways, too lazy to research such "possibly-ridiculous" things. Time-line probably doesn't match, among other things. But in other cases (not Chuck's), maybe things fit perfectly.
Oh yeah, my favourite Prince song is I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man. To me, a lot of his other stuff are "poppy" and enjoyable too. RIP PRN.

I experienced Prince in concert over the years (almost every time he played the Boston/New England area). I have so many memories because just obtaining tickets and getting to and from shows were adventures unto themselves. I have so many stories. I remember driving to Rhode Island three nights in a row because we had tickets for all of a three night stint. On one of the trips the hood latch on my VW Rabbit gave way and the wind lifted the hood and slammed it into the windshield blocking my view of the road. We were in the center lane and going 60 mph. The hood had slotted vents just ahead of the wipers and I could just barely see the lane lines. Miraculously I managed to pull over to the breakdown lane. I always had my skateboard gear in the car so I cut the straps off my knee pads and tied down the hood and continued on to the show.
My favorite experience though was seeing him at the Orpheum in Boston. We had nose bleed seats and the stage looked like it was in another state. I spotted some empty seats in a balcony that over hung the left stage. When the lights went down the Time took the stage and we snuck down to the seats. It was a great vantage point. After the Time finished and Prince was playing his second or third song suddenly some guys appeared behind us. We thought they were security and that we were busted. After a few minutes without incident I got up the nerve to turn around. It was Morris Day and some members of the Time. They didn't seem bothered by our presence and never asks us to move. I had nothing to write on but I had a pen so I took out a dollar bill and asked for their autographs. They graciously signed the bill. It is a prized keepsake along with guitar picks and a gold plated O(+> symbol Prince tossed into the audience at various shows. I could go on for hours relating my adventures as a fan, but that's enough for now.

I was extremely close to chuck e jesus, we spoke on the phone often and he was one of a kind (miss yah ross)...but if chuck were to stop posting after Gerry Garcia died he never would have posted here...ftr Gerry Garcia died Aug 1995harryupbabble wrote:All these musical greats dying.... made me wonder if Prince, and others, had accounts here at KVR. As for Prince, tbh I was never much of a fan but I had a lot of respect for him and it saddens me to hear of his passing...it also scares the heck out of me tbh as I'm just 3 months from 57, last May I lost a good friend and early childhood inspiration who was 56...I'm beginning to question the true meaning that ol' adage if yah keep on rockin you'll never grow old RIP Prince, no doubt your influence impacted all of us musicians in one way or another
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Youve read stories of celebs with disguises to go out right? Youve read stories of celebs being tainted by single sentences right? Sometimes being treated as an equal instead of a celeb is exactly what the doctor ordered.harryupbabble wrote:Are the greats too busy or too lofty to be posting stuff on internet forums?

No disrespect to the man and what he represented and accomplished, I get it...but I just didn`t care for it. I liked his 'flower-power' songs like Raspberry Beret , Alphabet Street and a few others from that album.
Looking at a list of deaths of recent years today, I found myself being more broken up about the death of Jerry Casale from DEVO a few yrs ago which i wasn`t aware of. Jerry had a big impact on me. He, with Mark, were the creative innovators for me, not Prince.
I`d say this death train has just started rolling.

....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here.
