I'll be interested in checking this out and Martinic Scanner.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

The recent releases of 2445, E27 and Stompdelay are fine on my machines.
Are you using the current versions?

Naa.the last PSP thingy i tried was that Lotary.i had no use for a rotary speaker emulation i was just more interested in the horn and speaker distortion modelling (it was pretty good)but it really wasn't worth the rape to my cpu

Bought without demoing. Everything they've released recently has been stunning in terms of sound quality, and CPU is been constantly improved (E27 case in point). The only product I would want further optimisation is indeed L'otary2, but it's not like I need 20 Leslie's in a session so I can live with that. It's by far the best of its kind (and V2 is a step up again). :tu:

How does this compare to L'otary - From the demo video I can't quite hear what the difference is between the two

Hammond organs included a "scanner" chorus/vibrato effect built right into the organ. I'm no electrical engineer by any means, but I think the circuit is built around a simple delay line (maybe someone smarter can confirm). Anyway, that's what B-Scanner models. Those same organs were meant to be played into a rotary speaker cabinet, where a treble horn and bass horn are rotating creating a doppler effect. That's what L'Rotary models. Very different.

My question: is PSP gearing up to release their first instrument, a B3 organ emulation? They've now modelled two major components of one and I'm confident they can improve upon GSi's VB-3 (not to mention, PSP would create a 64 bit Mac version).

Let the baseless speculation begin...

@ Funkybot - seems likely doesn't it.

The Scanner kind of looks all dressed up with nowhere to go without some tone wheels and drawbars to work with.

I'd be surprised if they did release a B3, but you've got me thinking now!

Day ruined :D

I'd be surprised too. They're one of the longest running plugin companies and never made an instrument. But if they were thinking about starting, this would certainly be one way of going about it. How cool would a PSP B3 be? I'd just hope the GUI looked better than this and L'Rotary if they did go that route.

They could call it PS3 - let the lawsuits begin

I'm not really into this or the Martinic version. Maybe I just don't dig Scanners. Trying both demos, I didn't have any 'wow' moments. Except maybe over the PSP CPU hit compared to the Martinic. Someone who has a specific need for this type of thing might think more highly of it. My Credit Card just breathed a sigh of relief. :)

I know its a recreation of the organ vibrato/chorus, but this type of effect seems more akin to the analog chorus type pedals that do an approximate emulation of the Leslie or rotary sound if you don't have a real Leslie cabinet, like the Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere. I like how they sound on guitar as an effect before the amp in the pedal chain. They tend to sound good in mono and a mix so you don't get the drastic stereo phase cancellation effect that makes using the rotary effect in stereo so hard to sit in a busy mix most times.
