v3.0b17 available (Windows and OS X)

Hopefully the last beta version fixes several bugs in the Idea Tool, and adds copy/paste/import/export possibilities for idea settings.

3.0Beta17 changes:

• It is possible to copy/paste/import/export track idea settings.
• Bug fix: unneeded marks in the Workflow menu fixed
• Bug fix: Tempo was not seen in workflows other than "Generate Independent Tracks"
• Bug fix: sometimes the composition got longer when harmonizing a melody track
• Bug fix: lock mode property was reset in the Idea Tool for excluded tracks
• Bug fix: excluded tracks were cleared in the Idea Tool instead of leaving phrases intact
• Bug fix: "Select from specified progressions with absolute chords, then find a scale" always used C Major scale
• Bug fix: plus other bugs in the Idea Tool that popped up during testing

Thanks for all the fixes and features ! it is a bit of a shock I'm accustomed to waiting years or being ignored by other companies when asking for fixes or features. It was well worth buying !

Just one thing when I load EZDrummer 2 or EZKeys they don't sync with the VstTimeInfo, the tempo changes to RC but the cursor won't move.
I tried it with Vielklang 2 (another that needs sync) it follows the RC cursor but doesn't stop when you hit stop until you hit play then it comes back to the same cursor position as RC.

Dear all, I just installed the beta, and it wouldn't run. Re-installed several times, uninstalled previous versions, made sure to run everything as administrator. Whatever I do, the program won't run, neither from shortcut nor from the exe.

Previous version also had this behavior occasionally, but restarting my computer and persisting usually worked. Now I'm back to 2.9. Figured I should report this.

I was trying to run the 32 bit version on a 64 bit Win7 Dell Latitude E7250, i5 2.3Ghz, 8Gb RAM. Will try 64 bit later and update the post; I have no use for the 64 bit because all my VSTi's are installed in 32 bit.

What happens when you start RapidComposer? Any error message?
Do you have an antivirus running on your laptop? If so, which one?
EDIT: Will you run taskmgr.exe, and look up RapidComposer.exe and see if there is processor activity and/or memory allocations.

Dear Attila,

I've now also installed the 64bit version. That one crashes with an error "RapidComposer_x64.exe has stopped working" (before opening the main window), and does show up in taskmanager before crashing.

RapidComposer x86 simply never runs, so no error messages, and no active processes related to RC in taskmanager.

I also thought it might be an antivirus problem. I have not installed one myself, but I am using a university laptop. Although I have full admin rights, the computer is linked to the university network in some ways. There is a utility called System Center Endpoint Protection, which I cannot disable and which has in the past performed some "protective" duties (removing a keygen program).



I have requested a clean local OS install for my laptop, and will then try to run RC again.

I do not know yet what causes beta17 to crash for some of you
I'll check the changes between beta14 and beta17.
It was a helpful hint, thank you, crossovercable!
I try to fix this as soon as I can.

Win 7, 64 bit, latest betaversion. I got a new plaything (wusik station V8) and just tried to use it on 4 channels in one project.

O.k., my fault that I did not set different channels on each track that uses the vst and that I did not saved the edits. But nevertheless I think that should not crash RC evry time I tried to open it and changed some setting. When I first opened the project there was just no sound, o.k., as I said, my fault.

But then I tried to fix the settings for the tracks and the crashing begins....

A view times it crashes, 5,6, 7 times while try to reopen the project, then at least it told it had recovered session, try to play, puff......

It seems that still on (many/some ?) places "unexpected" user behaviour is just punished by crashing.....

Now I had the channels set and it works one time, then again the unchanged project crashes RC time after time...

Just added the project, maybe someone wit wusik station v8 can try to verify or see if it is the same with another vst, havent tried that yet.

One thing to add: it seems that RC had some problems adding the different instances from the vst when I first saved the project with no saving of the vst edits and all on one channel (all where auto assigned to channel 1, no different instances created).
