On the hardware device of the OB-12, isn't the white serigraph a bit bolder than the one you've done for the GUI ?
yeah, you may see thicker lines on the final release :D

yeah, i knew modulation would be a tight squeeze and that control would have much empty space. but as FMR said not much i could do about moving the knobs and switches. oh well. just glad modulation fit at all.

I think also of the letters... They seem really thicker, more contrasted on the original, don't they?

After seeing the result of your (deeply appreciated) effort, IMO it would be better to be faithful to the "spirit" of the skin (colours, knobs, buttons) but keep the original element organization of OB-XD, since we cannot change it without reprogramming. To make things the way of the OB-X aligment, we would need 2Dat to change the original program in order to allow skinning, or changing the element position. So, in the current state, I would prefer to get back to where we were before (big titles in the top and knob/button labels in the bottom), but with the graphical evolution acquired in terms of buttons, knobs, colours, etc.

i think i may try a mix of both... having the titles on top and *some* of the button labels on bottom... such as the control section, but leaving the rest of the button and knob labels on top.

Well, lit with a warm yellow weak point source
See below for corrected white balance and (mostly) removed yellow and orange color cast.

ok, i think this is the best compromise between faithful and practical.
i'm sticking a fork in it.

I understand your frustration, but the one with the section labels on the bottom simply looks wrong and unbalanced. Unfortunately, 2Dat isn't around anymore, to fix the DLL to accommodate the changes, and the plug-ins simply was designed to have the section titles on the top... so, IMO, it's better to give up on fidelity to the hardware in favour of better looks. After all, the synth is not an OB-X emulation, as it isn't an OB-Xa emulation, nor a FVS emulation, but can be any of them most of the time.

Actually, I would return to the original design, with section labels on top, and knobs/buttons names under those. That's the way OB-XD was programmed, and that's the way it works better for the GUIs. That said, Layzer late solution seems like a fair compromise.
