kyle: I'm sorry but for now, yes. I should go back to the previous version of the compiler (VS2013 instead of 2015) in order to get that working, but this will break the current code.

I prefer an honest "no" over a misleading "maybe". it would just have been nice to have something like this ready to run in my cozy xp paradise instead of that tiled... &%$§?! ... thing.
seems like I have to move on and flip the switch. but the force (to resist) is strong in this one.

@HunterKiller: looks like the real problem is building on Windows 10 with VS2015. I have to set up another computer (or a VM) with W7 and VS2013 for that and will require some time.

the included manual still states it's compatible with xp sp3 and up.
