I would love this, too, but then it would mean they wouldn't have time to develop plugins.

Yes, imo. Daw users, music hobbyists, every other related category surrounding that thing that buys these things are arguably among the most transient segment out there, always searching for the next new or cool thing. :)

See Studio One where people asked that same question 6-7 years ago. Then Bitwig, when Live already existed.

If you build it somebody will always come. :hihi:
I thoght the same thing when Studio One was introduced. How stupid is it for Presonus to make DAW with so many good DAW's already being available. Apparently if you make something better people will buy it. I did! :D

What if the Ableton guys would just let the FabFilter guys redesign Live's GUI? :hyper:
Well, it would look the same! :hihi:

+1 for NI.

Also, how about Celemony? Melodyne 4 Studio is closing the gap already. If they added a good MIDI editor and VST hosting, automation, etc. Imagine multiple MIDI controllable audio tracks!

+1 for NI, as well as for a CM4S DAW derivitive - a full Celemony DAW might be big $$$, tho -

Korg's Gadget is probably up next for audio track integration (3.0) - I personally think that it would be really cool to see Korg and Auria's Wavemachine Labs working together on the next version of Gadget - including further evolving integration between Gadget & Ableton Live -

Since we are going down this path I want to add the developer that
made Nora to the A list. He is fast and communicates very well!

Your project will be destroyed by newest version.

i think that a successful DAW must be innovative to really catch it - thinking outside the DAW!
