Blasphemer! Heheh.

I think the other issue is also just not having the synths that the presets are for... I think there are a few Massive ones, which is pretty common for people to have... and maybe Zebra 2, but not so many of the others synths used for the sets? I mean I have a lot of commercial software, but I still didn't seem to have a lot of overlap with the soundsets... Maybe I didn't look too hard, either... I did end up picking up sound sets a couple times and they were very good, though! Instant inspiration! So, I suppose, I'm a fan of presets, too. In fact, Aviici built his empire on Nexus presets... ;) Anyway, maybe if they were somehow bundled by synth... the Massive preset bundle or Zebra 2, or whatever...

bjporter wrote:Hey people, I noticed that soundbanks are rarely chosen as a prize. Just throwing an idea out: What if you could choice 3 soundbanks? Would you be more likely to take that as a prize?
That would be my first choice. Even though I can program many synths myself, I still learn from how other people build their presets. Aiyn Zahev covers most of the major synths people on KVR talk about, and I own, and program, five of those synths.

Two soundbanks from Aiyn Zahev Sounds have been in the prize list for most of the OSCs I've seen or taken part in. Though I enter for the challenge and not for the competition, studying those soundbanks could improve my chances of surpassing my previous attempts, as well as helping improve my electronic music overall.

Sorry, off topic just a bit, but SoundCloud is just getting worse. What the heck? Same track 3 times, 2 of which are "preview" modes... ads are bad enough, need a replacement that is geared toward musicians sharing their music! ;)

:D great kicksounds guaranteed. And that will be it, I can have two instances with filter 3 running at a time, no more!

Ehh. The CPU on that thing is to much of a problem...

Time to upgrade hardware!
Just kidding, haven't tried it yet.

Yeah bundling similar presets is definitely interesting

Please, no. It's so buggy. u-he is fantastic, but the Repro alpha crashes left and right.

If I could suggest some synths for future rounds, I would say Nitrox or Kamioooka.
They both use low CPU (specially kamioooka), are capable of a wide range of sounds, and I feel like there aren't many people who have used them or have heared of them.

PD: please consider them for a future OSC, but not inmediately, I don't have time these months and would like to participate  .

Uh, Kamioooka seems amazing! :hyper:
Can't find the Nitrox vst, though?!

Maybe you need to be logged in to the site?

Kamioooka is pretty amazing for what it is.
Nitrox - http://sonic-lion.com/download.html

I know i don't participate in the OSC Challenge per sa, but Nitrox most definitely has my vote. Would love to hear what you guys can come up with using it. To me it's reminiscent of the Audjoo Helix's sound. Not as advanced, but still an overlooked synth that deserves some love. :phones:

*Edit - It does appear as though you do need to register at Sonic Lion as is mentioned above. Sorry.

Yep, that sort of stuff is spooky to me, but yeah... I might do that, then.
