Not to mention that I was still over a year away from knowing about OSC when you did that challenge, so...this is GREAT!

Yeah, no doubt it has an amazingly crisp, yet, warm sound and I just admire the tightness of the GUI...except that I lost my first preset, because I accidentally hit on the [>] button in the center, haha.

I wonder if Firebird by Tone 2 would be a good idea for next month. I know it's 32-bit only, but it sounds pretty good to me.
It's very tasty, I swear!

I guess the tracks submitted for the current OSC challenge must be approved by the moderators? Just want to know if I submitted my track correctly by adding it to the group (I announced it in the correct OSC forum too). Thx in advance for a reply!

Yes, sometimes it just takes a little bit to get approved on SC. Looks like your post is fine.Darkynth wrote:I guess the tracks submitted for the current OSC challenge must be approved by the moderators?

Oh my, I did not name my file correctly in my entry for the recent OSC (why the hell does Soundcloud not use the track name for the download???) and I can not rename it now. Guess I have to delete the track and upload it new with the correct file name? Can anybody help me?

Thanks, anyway I corrected it now by trying out the Soundcloud pro plan (where you can reupload the file).

In edit. Once you're "pro" it adds an option to "replace file", once you're in edit mode! That's the little pencil [\] button that gets you there.

I can run most windows plugins in linux via Wine (https://www.winehq.org/)
STOP THE PRESS ...
... it seems wine for mac is available ...

Right, there are some issues, though... The biggest issue is that, while you can run APPS under wine, you can't really just 'load a Windows DLL as an OSX plugin in your DAW'. Assuming a perfect world, then, this means either running the whole daw under Wine, with Windows plugins only (which you won't have installed because you're using Mac), or having some sort of wrapper for the plugin which takes you out of the normal flow of your DAW and introduces who-knows-what sort of incompatibilities, latency, and CPU into the mix. Also, the latter is a bit of a showstopper for me, at least, as I don't want to have annoyances making music, it sorta ruins the flow a bit.rghvdberg wrote:STOP THE PRESS ... it seems wine for mac is available ...
For the latter, it looks like there is Plugwire, which is stated to be "Beerware", which technically disqualifies it from use in the OSC, but it hasn't been updated in a couple years...
I used to use Reaper + Wine in Linux, and that worked great. The Mac port of Wine just doesn't have as much love as the Linux version, though, which means this perfect world doesn't exist.
