Hello users and potential users. I just completed an extensive demo and research process of RapidComposer v3 beta. I wrote and posted a user review. I sincerely hope my words are useful. It's a great app!

Any idea on a release date?

The release will be next week, probably 11th or 12th May. I am going to send an e-mail to all registered users personally (not the usual bulk e-mail). This requires more preparation.

v3.0 will require a new key-code, so v2 key-codes will not work. All customers who purchased since 2014 January 1st are eligible for a free upgrade. These people will get a new v3 key-code in e-mail.
Others can upgrade for a small fee.

I see rc have a variation velocity controller. i think this is usefull to have for controller and pitchbend too, and with a delay slider. maybe this is easy possible and can add after 3.0 release ?

you can add MIDI controllers to a track, and display them as an envelope. You can display and edit the controller envelopes under the tracks.
Velocity was special because it is not a MIDI controller, but still it is very important to be able to edit it.

Steps:
1. Select 'General MIDI' controller set for the track (it is usually set by default)
2. in the track inspector, click on the 'sliders' icon at the top to display MIDI controllers.
3. you need to add a MIDI controller to the track (e.g. Expression)
4. to display the MIDI controller under the track name, click on the small 'eye' icon
5. to display and edit the controller as an envelope, click on the small 'envelope' icon
6. right click inside the controller envelope band to select a tool, to edit or draw the MIDI controller with

please do not use slashes (or backslashes) in phrase names at the moment. Enter the group name in the 'Group:' textbox instead of attaching it to the name. This will be fixed soon.

I notice Problem with creating new folders in phrase browser in b19 too. when save a phrase with name rock4\seq1 browser is not update and show not new folder. close and reopen phrase browser do not help. only when Rc is quit and restart then the folder rock4 is correct show and contain file rock4\seq1 correct

thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! Your message came at the best time, because I am not sure about what the ideal upgrade price would be. Considering that all customers who purchased RC in the last 2 years and 4 months get a free upgrade, and the amount of work went into the development I would find a $49 fee a fair decision.

The upgrade fee does not affect too many people, as most purchases were since January 1, 2014.
I have always been bad at marketing, so any suggestion or advice is welcome...

No need to mention that forum posters who contributed a lot will get a free upgrade.

When i add a name "to group", for example rock4 in 2. page of phrase and press save button in 3. page of
phrase then add name seq1 only it is not store to folder(rock4) and no folder(rock4) is create. it is only store to main dir(chord generator, arpegiator or so). the quit rc and restart do not help

to controller support in phrase variations. this is usefull because its better that phrases can store bend or modulation or other controller sweep. When store a phrase all is load correct. i think such a thing for controller as for volume is great to add vibrato, filter sweep wah wah effect in a phrase. with the delay parameter this can add at correct note, can disable or enable as like test with diffrent one and it can add more phrase variations as this on several start pos.

another idea is maybe add in phrase variation a note number to controller mapper. so can choose that for example note C0 is map to controller number, maybe 1 for modulation wheel. So can create C0 notes in a phrase as like and the velocity of it is the controller amount. and a strength and offset slider can easy adjust numbers scaling, if not too much work. and to smooth to next controller (next c0 note) it is possible to choose linear or parabel. so need not much notes to control the curve add.

I am glad to hear the upgrade is free for users from Jan 1, 2014! I purchased in Nov 2014 and I believe the FAQ has always said upgrades would be at no charge through 3.99.

Regarding marketing, it is very important to have a clear upgrade policy and not to change it after you implement it! Attila does this quite well I would say!

To those who would like to do more (and can afford to) I bet Attila would accept donations to the cause!!

Attila, if regular purchases and upgrades do not bring in sufficient revenue, in the future you might want to consider some sort of crowd-funding campaign where you offer perks and special packages in exchange for early monetary support! Maybe for the next big upgrade?
