Compared to the last album this one is very weak. Even the Yello track wasn't all that great. Standouts so far are the PSB and Peaches ones.

It's farcical really. Supposed highly public enemy of the worlds most powerful is happily collaborating with one of the worlds most well known musicians and making cosy little videos about it... you just couldn't make it up.

I thought the whole point of JMJ releasing Electronica Vol. 1 & 2 was him celebrating the history and evolution of electronic music. I liked Vol. 1, but there were times I was left scratching my head. For example, why is he collaborating with the concert pianist, Lang Lang? Sure, he is a phenomenal pianist, but what has he done in the electronic music genre to warrant being a celebrated part of its history?

I have not yet listened to any of Vol. 2 - I'm still awaiting delivery of my copy. However, I instantly had the same sort of reaction when I discovered that Edward Snowden was a collaborator. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Yes, I have watched the track story, but I still don't see the purpose of this collaboration. Perhaps it's an image thing with JMJ. Perhaps he wanted to appear down with the kids.

For the record, I love most of JMJ's music.

What's more important: Advertising gimmicks, or the guy that serves food at the shelter?

As for those querying why Snowden is in this video - well, it certainly is a little curious I grant you.
Though perhaps the simplest explanation is just that JMJ admires Snowden (and vice versa), and JMJ got a buzz of inspiration out of meeting him?

After all, is there any good reason why Snowden can't appear in a music video?
