A question. Do you prefer them in stereo or mono? What instruments do you primarily use them in?

Why I ask....

Ever since I started working with Guenter I began making all of my .sf2 versions of soundsets as mono soundfonts. Guenter told me his instruments, when faced with a stereo .sf2 file would only use one channel, I forget if it was the left or right. Anyway, as my sounds do at times use panning effects between the two sides I always converted the .WAV sources to mono to make the .sf2 files.

Any answers are appreciated.... :D

I use soundfonts in NN-XT predominantly but also in DirectWave in FL Studio.

As SFZ is not supported directly in Reason, I usually try to buy your samples in both formats ultimately so I can use them without needing to import wave files and keymap them myself.

I am fine with mono, and I also use stereo ones as well. Having the option of getting yours in stereo I would definitely take.

Thanks. :)

Yes, the SFZ plugin is the only soundfont VST plugin I've come across that correctly plays sf2 files in both mono and stereo - Kontakt doesn't. VSTSynthfont is another one that does it ok.
Both of them are available for download here:

ESC and Samplelord both play mono and stereo .sf2 files. I spent some time listening to the differences in some .sf2 files and decided to start making stereo .sf2 files available as well.

I've only ever used your soundfonts in Alchemy (windows). Whether they were mono or stereo didn't bother me at all.

Slowly working on a page about this....

If anyone has come across any instruments that can correctly play stereo .sf2 files, please let me know so I can add them to the page.

So far all I have found are One-SF2, Samplelord and Phenome....
