No way to take mutiple MIDI channels and route them to ST2's 16 instrument slots on one Chainer channel.
Why not? You can do that in Chainer.

Do this:

o Open Chainer
o Load an instance of Sampletank 2 in a Chainer slot
o Load an instrument in channel 1 of Sampletank 2
o Load a second instrument in channel 2 of Sampletank 2
o Go to the lefthand pulldown menu (the menu item marked by a down arrow) on the Chainer slot that holds the Sampletank 2 instance
o Select "Midi transmit channel => All"

After doing the above, midi that you send on channel 1 will go into Chainer and then into your first instrument in Sampletank 2. Midi on channel 2 will go to your second instrument in Sampletank 2. I just tried it with Sampletank 2 and it works great.

Is this want you need or am I misunderstanding your intent?

external sync is one of the most wanted features. See http://www.kvr-vst.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51047

jorgen
Jorgen, I love XT and am strongly in favor in external syncing and triggering of the sequencer! here are paramaters n the Cakewalk PA 9 Project>MIDI out page:

All items are yes/no checkboxes except the number fields.

Send MIDI Sync
--Transmit MIDI Start/Continue/Start/Clock
--Use Start, never continue
--Transmit MIDI SOng Position Pointer (SPP)
--Locate delay for SPP recipient (0-20)
active only if "transmit SPP" is checked
--Select MIDI Output Port (0-whatever you got)

MIDI Machine Control (MMC)
--Transit MMC
--Timecode Master's Unit ID (0-127)
Active only if "Transmit MMC" is checked

Other Options
--Zero Controllers when Play Stops
--Patch Controller Searchback before play starts

Hope this helps!

Mr. Slater's Parot,

I don't have SampleTank yet, so I cant try it out, but this is great news! I had asked on the Sonic Synth Group Buy thread if ST would work multimbrally in Chainer (when triggered externally via MIDI) and the consesnus seemed to be that it wosuldn't. Excellent. Can't wait to try.

BTW, I'm getting so hooked on XT that I might keep sequecning on it anyway, should Jorgen come through with the external sync functionality. The Freeze is an extraordinarily useful feature. I get so much more mileage out of my wimpy machine because of it.

to be honest I haven't got a clue what you are talking about - are you sre you aren't confusing eXT with another application? :?

imo eXT has the most simple and clean sequencer of all... :D

It's a lot of fun to use, but it does take a lot of time to get into the mindset. I'm still working on it (maybe it's becuase I use FL?) and it's getting easier, but it's not as easy to go in and edit the piano roll, and the envelope thing is totally confusing. I agree, it's simple and clean, which is part of what makes it hard to get a hold of!

o.k. - if you're used to FL I understand where you're coming from - both programs couldn't be more
different from each other I guess :?
