Hi Squids,

It's been several years since I've last visited this board. Last time I logged in I was diskjunkie, but I can't recover my password because the email account I used to sign up is now dead.

I had a few questions for you if you don't mind, they are not about Sampletank, but I was not sure where else to contact you. After writing for the last few years in my home studio using your wonderful samples for Sampletank I am wanting to take my music out to the clubs. I have thought about it and I think a laptop loaded with Reason and some of your Refills might be the best way to do this. Do you guys currently have a Refill with all the Mellotron sounds on it? What about the Chamberlin, Optigan, Talentmaker, or the arp solina string ensemble? Oh also, what is the difference between the Omni soundz Refill GM and the Omni soundz Refill for Reason 2?

Thanks for any help you can lend me!

Hi Squids,

SQ: Hi diskjunkie. Long time no speak! Good to see Klassik KVRians once in a while (where's Wookie and DeWaverly???? sniff :( )

I had a few questions for you if you don't mind, they are not about Sampletank, but I was not sure where else to contact you. After writing for the last few years in my home studio using your wonderful samples for Sampletank I am wanting to take my music out to the clubs. SQ: Sounds reasonable. (Yeah, I know. )

Do you guys currently have a Refill with all the Mellotron sounds on it? What about the Chamberlin, Optigan, Talentmaker, or the arp solina string ensemble?

SQ: You know, one of the few keyboards I don't have samples of is the Talentmaker. But, Chamberlin and Optigan I have. We are just about to release a Sonic Refill title called "Mello T" (in da house). It is full of mellotron, chamberlin and even some Orchestron and Optigan stuff on there I believe. It is less than fifty bucks so it is a must have for Reason tron lovers. Beyond that you might want to take a look at a thread in the new Marketplace forum on KVR that talks about the NEXT esoundz group buy... we may have my personal tron collection that I did for Crowded House and Smashing Pumpkins up for grabs on that deal... check it out.

Oh also, what is the difference between the Omni soundz Refill GM and the Omni soundz Refill for Reason 2?

SQ: They are the same material. OmniSoundz itself is universal amongst a variety of formats (it is actually not packed in to a refill though). But, the Omni GM refill (or OmniSoundz GM Refill) is only in Reason format and IS packed into a refill. Plus it is a little less money so... if you are only using it in Reason you should get that one it's cheaper and the same sounds.

Thanks for any help you can lend me!

DJ: I saw that, and one of the first things I did after registering was vote for the tron stuff. I am not sure I know what a "group buy" is though. Sounds like some kind of special deal or limited edition or something?

Oh, another quick question for you. Do you guys have a Refill with the Symphony Strings samples on it? If not is there anyway for me to port those samples over (let me guess... no). What about just classic drum machine samples and no drums, anything like that?

DJ: Is OmniSoundz the same samples as OmniSynth, as I have OmniSynth for Sampletank and I would love to have those sounds in Reason. If it is maybe I should buy the universal version as I would hate to think of buying those same samples a third time for some other format I may use in the future. Does the Non-Reason verson load into Reason easily? On the other hand, "cheaper" is good!

Hey Squids thanks a lot, your product support and dedication (not to mention your demos) have always been top notch! Do you have an ETA on the Mello T as that, along with the pianos and organs, retro keys, and OmniSoundz Refills should be just the ticket! Well, maybe the Symphonic Refill too. :D

The new refill should be available as early as next week some time. It may take a little longer for them to get into the stores. The stores have to order them from M-Audio first. That stuff is out of our hands. But, we have them here so there is no use having them sit around. They've been done for about a month now. Time to be released into the wild!

There is no Symphony Strings refill although between Symphonic and Film Orchestra you do have some SR strings there. Then there is the all new Premium Refills which are $99 Prosession refills made by SR as well that were just announced. There is one that is solo and another that is ensemble. This has some SR strings but also includes strings we've never released before. It's a pretty incredible series. You can read the PR on www.harmony-central.com Just look up M-Audio's press releases from NAMM if you want to read about those.

That'll be 30 titles for Reason... whew! That's a lot of titles! We have 10 more coming too of the $49. range. For some Reason we like Reason. To be honest, I love pretty much all samplers. But, NNXT and the synth modules in Reason are fun for us to program on and M-Audio is Propellerhead's distributor here so it makes sense and has worked out great.

I was here to post a question about Symphony Strings in refill format when I stumbled on this thread. I have a couple of further questions.

Will esoundz carry the Prosession (refills) CDs that contain your sounds?

I'm looking for a variety of ensemble string sounds in refill format. Should I look toward the prosounds CD or the two SR refills (Symphony and Film)? It would be the same price.

I guess it is a loaded question... "well it depends on what specific sounds you are looking for. Buy all three!"

Anyway, any pointers?

I just went and checked the Symphony and Film sound lists and I'm really interested in the Symphony Refill. The sound names are interesting.

What about the prosessions list?

eSoundz will carry teh Prosession Premium Refills volume 1-10 which are made by SR. Vol. 11 is not. They are better than the other volumes you mentioned but those are good too... different price.

I went and read the press release. Looks like what I'm wanting. I'll just have to be patient, and resist these group buys. Resist, resist, resist... but I keep hearing, "resistance is futile."
