Malkum here, I now live in Ecuador. Retired after 40 years touring. Have a "old time" understanding of recording, I started recording in the mid- 60's very different from today. I still use my Roland 2480. I just got the Tracktion 5 with a mixer I bought. Having some issues in installing (windows 8.1) all the plug-ins and setting up the screens. For example when unpacking the packs (2Bits, songs, fx, ect.) they are not being acquired inside of the T5 screen only in the Music folder under Tracktion 5 Projects that I setup. Like in Setting, under plug-in there is nothing showing. As well in General Behaviour under language only one English, and so on. I have downloaded the learning videos but they seem a bit lacking in start-up/setup info. I do not have everything in the same places that are seen in the videos. Any info/help would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to meeting and exchanging ideas and info.

I would change the thread title to reflect that you need advice about Tracktion. It will (hopefully) get you what you need. Good luck.

I also recommend to try Reaper (www.reaper.fm) which is a great daw for recording.
