The light source wasn't a big issue for me, I was just pointing out why some might find it odd. I do like the new UI much more than your first attempt. Looking at yours side by side with the Sonic Projects version, I think it's a good example of how much better your UI would look with smoother text. Anyway, I'm only trying to improve an already great UI. If you change nothing, I'm perfectly happy.sergiofrias wrote:thank you,i changed the light direction based on the light direction of the panel of op-x,here is the comparison:Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:sergiofrias wrote:
Nice job Sergio, thanks!
As others has pointed out, the odd direction of the light source (bottom left) casting shadows up and to the right looks a little strange, but it's not a big deal at all. I think we're just used to the idea that the light source needs to come from the top of the UI. The non-smooth text stands out more to me since the rest of the UI looks like realistic hardware, but the blocky (non-anti-aliased) text takes the UI out of the realm of being a real piece of gear. Otherwise, I honestly think it's perfect. Obrigado!
i softned the shadows ,the colors of my panel are more gray(like the original hardware) ,since that blue tone of op-x is a little bit extreme.
this change of design was also my personal message to to Sonicprojects,"we have a good alternative in obxd !"

Now that you mention it, how about a Moog Source ?AutoMotto wrote:Nice looking skin layzer. I can almost imagine the skin requests in your mail box for ARP / Korg / Moog / other Rolands etc....

We're now up to v1.2 of the fork, looks like it can use the 'classic skins' albeit with a rather convoluted process of making/tweaking an .ini file - https://soshistudio.wordpress.com/category/news/Yeager wrote:Yep it's the same as the 1.0 OBXD so without the hidden features.
And all the knobs are there and labelled correctly![]()

I keep thinking it looks like it could be a rack mounted synth.sergiofrias wrote:

How about some metal handles like Spectrasonics Trilogy but thinner and silver?

I get why the ''O'' of ''OB-Xd'' is not aligned with the MASTER and GLOBAL panels but I think it might be nicer if ''OB-Xd'' was the same width as the MASTER and GLOBAL panels.

sergio can you bring back the anti-aliased smooth text, at the moment it looks like a skin made in Paint in the early 90's. At least that's what the text does to the feel of the rest of the skin. Perhaps increasing all fonts a little as well, they are rather small.
The envolope knobs are so far apart, so much empty space, yet the labels are tiny underneath and above.
Pretty much all knobs and buttons on the synth could be re-spaced to give some more space to the white label text.

There are not enough pixels for the antialiased text to not be blurry, it is fine as it is now.HunterKiller wrote:sergio can you bring back the anti-aliased smooth text, at the moment it looks like a skin made in Paint in the early 90's. As i understand, positions of knobs are hardcoded in the dll, so no moving them around without recompiling the dll.

Sergio please ignore all these requests for changes, unless it's a bug. The skin is fine as is, if people want all this stuff (especially the over-used "handles" or wooden side strips) let them make their own skins!! Thank you for your fine work.

I also wonder why it's so calm. Maybe layzer take a well-deserved pause?AutoMotto wrote:Any news about the layzer skins ? Matrix 12 looks very impressive.
