Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

HAHA. No worries. This is the internet after all so no reason to for anyone to get offended.Sim.Sky wrote:I didn't mean to insult you guys at all with my post. That was really just ironic and had nothing to do with your specific announcement - hope you don't take offenseAROSSA [Cakewalk] wrote:Wow, this forum is pretty cynical

Just don't use the two phrases "ground breaking" or "game changing" here unless you have some Valium to pass out.
"Huge" (say it like Trump... "Yuuuuuggeee...." ) otoh, you can get away with.

Well, if it's a stable mac version, I'll seriously consider switching DAWs.
Perhaps they should work on a stable windows version first though.

Hmmmm, it says "BIG" and those three letters are enclosed in a white box. There are also three mystery boxes for the new features. My guess - "BIG" is probably an acronym for the three new features.

Sonar has been rock solid here for four years...so I'm a bit confused by the Windows stability talk.
Having said that...If the big news is they are going to have a mac version. I could care less being I have a PC.
I know they are offering a lifetime updates deal, but I'll wait to see what it is I'm buying first.

Some of the "pending" news has been released early. They are offering very generous lifetime upgrade options for currently enrolled members. Awesome deal. Thank you, Cakewalk!

I'm quite certain it's not a Mac version, but since I'm a Sonar user who also has a Mac, I'd love to see that happen.

Yup, cheap lifetime license for a limited time. That's part 1.
I'm hoping parts 2 and 3 are a Mac version (even though I'm a PC user, it would more solidify Sonar as a big player to those who won't have it) and umm... well I'd LIKE a completely revamped midi engine/piano roll/midi tools.
If it's some TASCAM/Cakewalk hardware controller, I'll rage a lot.

Wow. Wasn't it like 10 years ago that sonar had the epic "20-40%" thread?
And somehow arossa keeps playing the "wow you guys are cynical" card. (even though we've been through this a few dozen times)
It's almost like the NFL channel. "Wow, that rams defense, they are the best" (ranked 23rd last year and at or below .500 the previous 3 years) or "wow, rex ryan is the best coach ever" (though he's been .500 or worse the last 5 years) or people that think that Nixon started the Vietnam war.
Facts, respect if you ever have them straight, but you'll be more sucksessful if you pretend to be donald!

As someone that moved to Mac and left Sonar after many years using it, I'd give it another shot if it was ported to Mac.
However, I agree with Theo that it is unlikely. I think I remember seeing a quote from someone at Cakewalk in the past year repeating the "no Sonar Mac version ever' mantra that I have heard forever.
Even so, Sonar is really alone now as a big standalone one-platform DAW. (Logic, as it owned by the platform owner, is in its own category.) So many multi-platform DAWs out there. People certainly consider platform flexibility when choosing a DAW. Perhaps, "the bakers" have changed course.
Anyway, I guess we'll find out on June 1.
