For Sonar Platinum, yes. But what if they release a new DAW later? Or just rename Sonar?

I don't know if I want to pay that much for the lifetime licence (233 € with VAT, about 2x annual renewal price). DAW world is unpredictable one and anything can happen in two years.

Andrew: I haven't received any e-mail from Cakewalk for some reason (my subscription seems to be active, though)

This is my guess! A BIG mixer/controller thing by Tascam that integrates well with Sonar.

IMO, writing for the Mac OS would be great because they would get rid of all the 'vintage' Windows code and start fresh in OS X! But I don't see it happening! Too much work if they want to make the projects compatible with the Windows version!

Judging from the image in the announcement email which depicts a silhouette of a DJ, I would guess that they are going the way of Ableton/Bitwig Studio. They already have a basis in the Matrix view. It should take only a little push to go all the way there.
