Stupid question: Can you somehow default the keyboard piano play to start at lower keys? It's set to way too high by default ... I'd like it 2 octaves further down in general, without having to edit sounds.

You mean virtuak jeyboard? Jeah it olays too high... And loses focus way too often, too

I've briefly checked out the third party soundsets - they mostly seem to cater ambient/soundtrack composers. Is there something targeted at dance music crowd - trance, dubstep, psytrance perhaps?
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Oliver, is there any chance of making the drunk oscillator have an option for random start value?
The manual for Falcon indicates "The Drunk module generates a random walk signal which simulates the natural randomness that occurs in cases such as the drift in pitch or amplitude of a sustained note." It seems that real analog synths don't always start in tune on each note press. In accordance, most virtual analog synths I know of, the analog random knob not only introduces random note pitch drift, but also introduces a random start value of the pitch at the same time.
The drunk oscillator, when used at keygroup level, seems to always start dead center at 0. Even if I switch the trigger mode to "No Retrigger" mode, it still seems to reset it's value to 0 on every note press. Isn't that retriggering then, if it's resetting it self to 0 for every key press? If this is not a bug, then could we add an option for a random start value?
If you're going to make "No retrigger" mode have a random start value though (as it seems to me like it should), please don't change it's scope away from being able to affect each note played differently, as it is now. Part of the beauty of analog randomness is that it affects each note played in a chord differently.
Thanks!

Just assign a random modulator to the Drunk start value and or pitch of the osc as the two mods (random + drunk) will be added together.

Yes, but that only works for one oscillator. If you have two or more oscillators and want them both to be random, the random modulator won't work for that, because it supplies the same random value to all assigned parameters.otristan wrote:Just assign a random modulator to the Drunk start value and or pitch of the osc as the two mods (random + drunk) will be added together.
I could us a random LFO, but it makes things more complicated to deal with two modulators instead of one. And if you're trying to do it with multiple oscillators, that just multiplies the complexity of tring to program the patch, and multiplies the CPU usage.
It seems like it would be so much nicer to program, and on the CPU, just to be able to have an option to have the Drunk Modulator have a random start value.

Quite a good point.jacobh wrote:It seems like it would be so much nicer to program, and on the CPU, just to be able to have an option to have the Drunk Modulator have a random start value.
Or, there should be a truly random modulator that would produce a different random value for EACH of its destinations individually.

You can use the Random LFO with speed of 0 in order to have different Random value.
Having similar random for different parameter can be pretty useful if you ask me.
Here you have the choice.

Yes, but that random value that comes from the random modulator or from the random LFO won't have the same influency of the bias parameter or other parameters in the drunk modulator.
I agree that it's nice to have the choice; that's why I'm requesting to have it as an option in the drunk modulator. It could either be via the "No retrigger" mode (which currently doesn't seem to have any affect that I can tell?), or via some other checkbox on the drunk modulator?
Thanks!

Well if you modulate the initial value with this random modulator, yes, it will.
No retrigger just keep its life so initial value won't change a thing as initial value is only taken into account at triggering.
(No retrigger is like having one single instance of the drunk module for all voices which keep running in background even if no voice is playing)
Not saying we will never do it. Just giving ways to achieve it right now.
