I think you are thinking of the later generation Synclavier (eg, 3200/6400 systems with the VP/K keyboard), that offered 100KHz sampling, direct-to-disk recording and sequencing and the like (plus the synth stuff, though that wasn't really the headline feature by this point.)

This is not that - this is the earlier generation Synclavier II, which was an FM/additive synthesiser (and at some point added some sampling and sequencing and other computer software - but this was still early days).

So it's an FM/additive synthesiser, not the full-on post-production monster machines they later became with all the bells and whistles.

The discount on GForce Oddity 2 is much more tempting, because it sound so great. And when I need a Jupiter 8 I use Uhe's Diva.

So I was hoping Arturia would upgrade the sound if their older instruments. They know how to do it, because their (newer) SEM plugin is excellent!

@jsp1979

The Farfisa is a big surprise to me; I actually thought it was some kind of organ meant for undertakers.

Arnold Laaayne!! 8)

And of course the undertaker's song himself:

Price is steep for an Arturia product but good vs Pianoteq. But given their constant sales I am sure I will be able to pick for 50 USD with in a year.
I've not played the piano, but based on what I heard from the demo and what I've heard through my version of pianoteq, I wouldn't recommend getting your hopes up. ;)

I found the B-3, Rhodes and piano all very uninspiring sounding based on the demos posted earlier in this thread.

Where are the new GUI's? They look the same to me on the site??
CS80V still looks a mess on their site... Also, Arturia should announce the resizable GUI somewhere.... Their site is a mess, completely undersells the new features in every way.

Unrelated but I bought UVI's sample library of Synclaviar sounds a couple years ago, now I wish I had purchased the Farlight library instead.

To be honest, also for the CS-80 I think the new GUI is rather a step back. Yes, they are scalable, but otherwise look worse.

Beyond pure looks, (and where can you see them? do I have to download the demos??), my question would be how do they work with touchscreens? I've got a Slate Raven here, some plug ins are awful with it, (CS80, MOTU MX4 etc.) and some like Uh-He, Arturias Matrix etc. are OK.

Schijnverbetering.

Again, the accuracy and brevity of the Dutch language says it all

And why is that?

The GUIs are...hmm.. sure they are bigger and better... but somehow not streamlined enough.
The image bitmaps take up hundreds of megabytes on the hard drive for the different zoom ratios (there are different file sets for 60, 80, 100, 140 and 200%)

The preset management and the MIDI Learn seems to be new, for me the sound engine seems identical, at least in case of Jupiter 8v3 and Oberheim SEM v2.

I guess I can used to the new GUI of the CS80V, but I am not sure about the JUP-8V.

As for the tool-tips, i think the values are now displayed in the 'status line' at the bottom of the window.
