Just saw this thread and explored it in usual KVR fashion. Well 90% of it is bitching (as usual) and another 10% is wild guessing (again as usual :hihi: ). I really liked "Ant moved in some country and KVR is flaming)

Since we are at guesswork can anyone explain me WHAT THE HECK photo of Jeff Mills riding 909 at DJ gig does have with big announcement? Surely it's Jeff, just look at the sun position, it's early morning set in Barcelona :hihi:

AFAIK Jeff Mills does not even use computer for sequencing let alone playing VST synths.

So this is just a shiny photo but if there is something to it then it's some kind of:

- Aira 909 or complete line integration
- or they are adding DJ oriented features. And Jeff Mills is serving as a male model :hihi:
- Or they will add space ship content approved by Jeff Mills :hihi:
- A tube amp? :hihi:

For most companies with a solid product and a reasonably sized user base, this is a not a good business decision...quote]

Not to mention the fact that Gibson stock recently received a fairly harsh rating from Moody's. I think the whole outfit's in trouble.
This is what I was alluding to in the first two sentences...

Gibson has been taking a financial flogging and their cost of borrowing will be much higher with that downgrade....

So anybody signing up for "lifetime upgrades" at this time should heed some very good advice...

Caveat Emptor...

And they might also want to do a search into how many other good companies Henry has destroyed in his quest for riches
No auto tune...

Except that Cakewalk still works as it's own entity. Gibson is simply the parent company.

Also, ever since Gibson took over, Sonar has been better than it's ever been. Mainly because they stay the hell out of the way and let Cakewalk do what they do.

You cannot be a parent and not be involved with your chidren :)

It would be extremely naïve to suggest that Henry bought Cakewalk as a philanthropic gesture...

@Mystic

And how do you know what they do?
Since the Gibs are a private company.

According to Cakewalk, he bought it because he is a Sonar user himself.

It's something Cakewalk has addressed multiple times on their forums.

I had been running it fine on W7 for a couple of years, and I am currently running int on W10 with no issues (other than 32 bit memory limitations).

It's not officially supported, because they ended development before Win 7 came out. Most people seem to run it fine though.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Have you gone to the forums and checked the huge thread? if you do and make a request for them to look at it they will sort it out rather quickly. If you have been a Platinum owner from the start and re uped your Subscription this year you should get the email, if you purchased your subscription top up from one of the 3rd party sellers offering deals late last year, that required a bit of extra footwork on cakewalks behalf, and they started sending out emails to those in batches yesterday or the day before. It's only for Platinum owners who resubscribed again this year I believe.

I got my emails with no action required on my part, and even though I wasn't going to continue re subscribing to Platinum after this year, the deal was to good to let go, only $99US, so can't go wrong, if Sonar becomes something I must have again at some stage I'm already there without need to outlay any further money, barring any extra stuff they add which isn't under the lifetime deal.

Buying lifetime free updates.
Could it be Imageline + Cakewalk joining forces?

I'm more inclined to say that they'd do something with Deckadance since Gibson bought it.

I did resubscribe through a third party seller this last time, so that probably explains the delay. I'll check in over at the Cakewalk forums. Thanks!

Some sort of Proppelerhead merger? Doubt it. But Propellerhead only likes a few things on Facebook and Cakewalk is one of them.
