Hello all,

Today we have released the last planed maintenance update for Cubase Pro/Artist 8 and Cubase Elements AI/LE 8, the 8.0.40 update features improved Hover Control design and operation and resolves over 60 issues throughout the applications.

The update is now available for download from the Steinberg website.

This update needs the 8.5 installation files from a previous installation?
It's not working here and shows that no Cubase 8 64bit is installed.

This is not a Cubase Pro 8.5 update it is only for Cubase Pro 8.0.35 users or bellow...

If you are on Cubase Pro 8.5 you already have most of the fixes included in this update.

I updated to 8.0.40. and now my PC freezes completely when I open certain projects. Anyone else having this issue? It could be related to the Kuassa VST3 plugins which have some issues.
