WHAT?! Do you mean the track BOUM BOUM? That's not Trance at all.no_signal wrote:If you know the "Boom Boom" track from the Voyager album, you know why I ask this ...
And I must say, LOVED the album.

Indeed. William points up a common beginners mistake in the arcane world of Categorical Propositions.
Simply stated the fallacy goes:-
All trance is shite.
This tune is shite.
This tune is trance.
Oh no. The keen student will have realised that just because a tune is shite it is not, a priori, trance.
See also boolean logic.

Go listen to "Astral-Projection", the kings of trance, GOOD TRANCE.
Also, that track "BOUM BOUM" is very good to me ears.
Taste is personal.

Haven't heard the new album, but Cretu does live in Ibiza now, so what did you expect?
Personally, I think his best work was the album he produced for Hubert KaH. Yeah, thats right. I'm kickin it old-school!

I quite liked the track, and didn't hate the album, it just seemed to be all too familiar.
I wouldn't exactly call the tune trance either to be fair.
I don't hate trance, I'm just bored with it. I'll still munch the disko-biscuits and wave my arms around and dance to it (u seen the women at trance-fests?? now there's a good advert for it if ever I saw one, two, hundreds!)

Of course. You take away the cheesy gated buzzers, the "set arps to up cos I can't be arsed to learn chords" and add the funky groove that's been ruthlessly bleached out of it.WilliamK wrote:GOOD TRANCE.
But then it would be techno wouldn't it?
