YES WE CAN!
Right. Quick review. The sounds are very usable. I have a few tracks on the go and I was looking for similar sounds (which I found). A few tweeks here and there would be good like in nexus.
I have just tried changing my bass in my current track to Lethal and WOW - I am impressed! I found several sounds that I wouldn't have thought to look for. Sounds are very up to date and modern - I cannot wait to get the new ones that are coming. Its like having Sylenth, Massive, Spire, Nexus and ANA all in one synth which makes it easier to find what you are looking for.
I think its worth the money and as long as I use a few sounds (even if they are not main leads) its nice to have plenty of current sounds in one place. If I had a finished track I would show you some of the sounds I am using.
As its in its first stages I would say its a little behind nexus, but it has a lot of potential.

Yeah, that would be a pretty good description of a rompler, like Lethaldb3 wrote:rompler i.e. at it's most basic a sample based synth which can't sample

Big names use word "Synth" on Nexus, does status of a person make it a synth? No. M1 is sample based. It doesnt synthesize anything, oscillators are just selectors for soundsource with some primitive changes. Kontakt 5 offers more settings for a soundsource then M1. Does that make it a synth now too?Numanoid wrote:If you need further proof, here is an indepth review of M1 by Sound on Sound, they don't use the word "rompler" at all to describe it, but a "Sample + Synthesis workstation"

But if you believe that M1 is a synth, let it be then, i dont care.

Back again! I have little more info on lethal.
Lethal doesn't seam to have velocity setting for sounds. When you press lightly on a key nexus will cut off some highs where as Lethal doesn't. Lethal doesn't currently use the mod wheel for anything and I do think the presets need to be named as looking through the strings all it says is strings when you would hope it would say violin ensemble ect. I do think some of the sounds need more processing, but that my be a preference thing.
On the plus side there is an octave button so you hit one note on your keyboard and it will do the same note an octave higher. It also does chords in the same way. I have a NI Komplete Kontrol so I may not need this function, but I do find it helps with inspiration.
Back to the sounds. I have had a look/listen again and there is a lot of sounds to choose from. There are Tropical sounds which is nice as I don't have any in Nexus. The basses are fat and there is also very current. I compared the leads with nexus and they are very similar.
Cpu is fine on my mac.
If I had the choice and I knew what I know now. I would still buy it. I believe you will find a sound you are looking for which will make it worth its weight in gold. Apparently, when June 2017 is over the expansion packs will charged at a small rate (hopefully a small rate meaning no more then $20).
Any questions please ask. Its hard to do a proper test as I need to start a new track (which would take a while) for me to show you how it sounds.

You can apply a velocity factor to the amp and filter amount in the ENV sections.
The mod wheel can be assigned to filter, amp, pitch in the source section. Although there does seem to be some additional LFO behaviour which might be a bug.

Yeah, I saw that but, you would hope it would have been preset so we don't have to!db3 wrote:You can apply a velocity factor to the amp and filter amount in the ENV sections.

Normally I am not amazed by a new synth, especially on a rom-based one.
Nevertheless in these times simply starting from zero in competition with the big ones (all are named already) the developers deserve respect, and up to now I think they did a good job.

Still waiting on a demo to see how it functions in my daw (fl studio) a lot of people seem to claim lethal burns your cpu like no other and having a daw that fries up your CPU along with lethal seems like a great way to frustrate you

I've had no issues on my CPU. I think a lot of that will come down to CPU speed and optimization. How many of these people also have 100 things running in the background with 40 browser tabs open?

No issues at all with CPU for me on mac. Barely makes a dent.
I am aware LA were addressing some issue affecting certain users. v1.0.3 is now available for download, perhaps it includes a fix.
*edit*
We have updated Lethal to Version 1.0.3. PC Users - It is important you uninstall ‘Lethal’ beforehand as some systems may not register the update. This update addresses the following fixes/changes:
- Improved CPU management
- Compatibility issues
- Fixed Library saving preset issue
- Fixed FX Reset button causing crash
- Various bug fixes

If they are true with their promises charging only small fees for new sound banks it should be a good decision to sell Nexus.
You could only use the "newest" banks of Nexus, the older banks are used already in too many tracks.
If you would be creative and up-to-date regarding current club sounds it really seems to be a good product.
Update: I am offering my Nexus2 license for selling now.
