I just wanted to thank You™ and Freeztar for listening and for all the the great reviews.

One thing i was wondering. Is it against the rules to post the full song in the same month as the competition?

And a few reviews. Looks like a busy month again.

DT - You always write the catchiest stuff. I appreciate your pop sensibilities more than anything, I think.

Freeztar - Quite nice. Nothing wrong with the guy's voice (yours?) but I would have been just fine listening to the girl. Also would have preferred a bridge to the main song, rather than the whistle breakdown. Beautiful up to that point, though.

DSP - Yes, reading the intro, I have to say that I had my hopes up for more. TMBG would have been the better set up, I think. Interesting clav work. Fun idea.

Wopelka - I have the same "got to post this right away!!!" feeling whenever I finish a contest entry. :) I like the song. Creative melodic movement. Lots of stuff I didn't expect, which is fun. Your voice is nice and the accent's kind of fun for me. Overall rhythm and band feels a little stilted, but still fun.

Mr. Me - You need to meet a girl who sounds like Suzanne Vega or Dido (don't we all?). This would be the perfect underscore for a nice melody. Cool stuff anyway.

Beardedone - What are you going to call yourself when you shave? The artist who formerly had a beard? On to the review... Are your drums loops or samples triggered by prepared midi files? They are always nice. Especially this jazz stuff. Cool stuff, as usual. Don't like the sax sound, but I don't really like real saxes, either. :)

Blue Days - Too repetative for my taste. Mix and over-the-top reverb works for me, though. You lose major points for the ending. Take the time to remix and edit it, for Pete's sake.

farluker - Couldn't get it to work.

fst - Maybe a little cheesy, but pretty fun. The 80's guitar solos kind of kill it for me. I don't mind the power chords so much. Is Jan Hammer an influence?

Bastien - Pretty cool ambient stuff. Would work for a movie soundtrack somehow, I think. There's variety in the instruments, but I need more change up in the chords and whatnot.

RichieBee - Everybody dance! Nice stuff. I like the arrangement. Like the drum break. Don't care for the horns. Would have liked a full 2 minute version.

Kriminal - Wicked tweakage. I don't know why I do, but I LOVE it when a synth sort of has that human characteristic from playing with the filters and modulators. Sounds like it's communicating something to me. Almost makes me not notice that the song is the same four chords throughout. Almost. Great programming, though!

Spyro - This is a tight piece. Crap, I love it. Please do a full version! Rapping guy at the top is cool. Even though I don't know what you're saying. You could be saying, "plunge is a really big dork and his mother dresses him funny" but I'd just be bobbing my head right along. You weren't saying that were you?

ianweb123 - More humanoid synths. This is really good too. Soundtrackish and full of texture. Nice mix. Not much to complain about. :)

More coming later....

Good one!  Thanks Plunge.

The drums are all midi tiggered in DR008 via Slicy and Fillin Drummers from MusicLab. The Sax is TubiLeSax and the rest of the Brass are ST2 sounds.

the hosting site doesn't allow direct links to mp3, and instead of giving an "access denied" error, it serves up a html page with some ads, and then spews out the mp3 :dog:

@ plunge: if you can't deal with .ogg, try >> the mp3 version << :)

:-o :-o Erm, not really.

My usual output is nothing like this, rest assured ;-)

Merely the result of an enjoyable few hours mucking around with some sampled synth arps that made me grin so much i thought i'd throw it into the compo - no serious artistic merit intended. Thanks to all for the reviews tho, much appreciated.

(also, figured it was about time i contributed something/anything to the Cafe/Comp rather than always being a downloader..)

9 days in and as usual the standard is top high, some great entries already on repeat play here. Voting is going to be hard  but enjoyable ;-)
