I noticed that FLStudio will only allow you to sync to one MIDI port.

What I have two hardware synths and I want to sync both to Flstudio?

Use a MIDI Out channel to send MIDI data to an external synth. You can set different channels and ports for individual external synths.

Yeah that's cool for controlling the external synths. But what if I want to sync the arps on both synths. In the MIDI setup I think can only sync to one MIDI port.

It should work to chain the synths, shouldn't it? Hopefully one of them has a MIDI thru port.

Post

I was told that midi splitter like MIDIOX can be used to split the clock source into multiple ports.

I haven't tried chaining yet. And yeah I hear there are some utilities out there that may be able to do it. I just wish they would add native FLStudio support for it.

Yeah, if one of your synths has a MIDI Thru port, you can connect both synths to the same MIDI out in a series. Put them both on their own MIDI channel.

I would think that this is correct, a midi patchbay might do it as well. With my midi patcher (by 360 degrees systems) I can program 7 outputs (it is 8x8) to 7 inputs, but I can't have 7 inputs to one port.

I like having seperate MIDI ports. I may just look for one of those utils to solve the problem (ie: MIDIOX or MIDI YOKE).

I still wish they would add the support into FLStudio, just like it is in Cubase SX.
