If D16 and its partners have chosen to spent some time (and money) designing this synth, there must be some reason. They probably know their customer better than you. And if it doesn't work or if nobody buys it. Don't worry it will disappear in no time. It seems that you are obviously not the target.
Lovely answer. It's possible to write about anything this way :hyper: :hyper:

So If I have chosen to write my answer there should be some reason. I probably know subject better than you. So if punchbox actually doesn't have no customers and wouldn't disappear in not time then what? It's obvious that you're not a target of previous message.
Murderous duck!

I know there are very specialized plugins like EQs, Compressors, Reverbs, etc. But seriously, it's a kick drum. The price on this thing would have to be so ridiculously low to even consider getting it. I mean who in their right mind (just pulling a price out of thin air) would pay $99 just to make a kick drum? Even $49.

What am I missing here? What makes this so special? Or is this going to be a very low priced item (would have to be under $30 for me) that makes it a no brainer to get?

Because I am just not seeing it.

Is it just me? If it is, what am I missing?

kick is one of the most important things a lot of times. Worth it to get it perfect.

The long-awaited PunchBox from D16 is here at last.
Reminder: it’s a bass drum Synthesizer designed for creating high-quality kick drum sounds.

The PunchBox is not included in the current D16 Summer Sale and
it will be added to their “Total Bundle” when the Summer Sale is over, at July 1st.

Retail price: $89, cheaper at some resellers.

Edit 4 hours later:
D16 just announced that “Total Bundle” will include PunchBox immediately.

Surely if this loads samples then you can use it for more than kicks? Certainly for the likes of toms, claps, snares, even bass (the kind you hear in Techno anyway) some of those parameters and FX look like they'll be useful for them too. Very interested to find out what the customer discount is now!

Indeed, you can import your own samples and use them to create all sorts of sounds, although it's focus is on kicks.

Nah, i stand by wagtunes. It is weird to make kicks with a dedicated vst for that price... Purely subjective ofcourse, but no....a kickmaker. Weird stuff if you ask me.

I guess i am just not into "kick-music".

Definitely very genre based and deeply depending on the personal point of view.

If this plugin brings a fast workflow to create your own great sounding kicks, it's worth it (for my music genre and my point of view :hihi: ). But that will only be proven over time.

I like the idea to have 4 sound sources in one. Tailored just for this on purpose. I don't really care about the FX, because you can also do that with other plugins. Nevertheless it can be very handy to have it in one window, except on 4 tracks (4 sound generators) with 4 sends to 4 auxes (with the different FX), mixed together into a buss with a limiter. All of this just on one track, means 7 tracks less to bother with in the mixer window :D

Until now I used Big Kick from Plugin Boutique. It's really good. But the GUI is a bit a bummer, because it's so small, although it looks quite good. To much things squeezed into 100-200 pixels for the width. Thus, in Logic, it also doesn't show all Logic plugin-window buttons like 'compare', 'copy', 'paste' etc.

I don't try to convince you into buying it. Just describing why I spend that kind of money for it.

Listened those audio demos and I am not impressed at all. I will download the demo and test it by myself, when I have some time, but audio demos were not good.

yes, seems to be like this

for almost all kinds of edm - a kick sound is the most important element.
at punchbox there are almost unlimited ways to combine the generator cells (sine / 909 / 808 / 606 & samples) with the 'click/tops & tools' cells. you get new results really fast and intuitive. we tagged all samples & presets - also a fast browsing/search experience.

and of course - expansions will be also available in the future, too.

but just "to get started" >1100 samples and 800 presets should be enough :help: :D

Finally, a decent Metrum replacement. Will be getting soon!
