Also, the most frequent crashing situation occurs when I'm working in the Chord List (the one that shows up when you right-click chord numbers). When I'm auditioning chords, it will highlight two of them, and crash.

Will you try to uninstall the demo version, Unblock the installer (right click, Properties, Unblock), and reinstall by right click+"Run As Administrator"?

It seems the issues are with the audio driver. (I also use Scarlett ASIO all the time but on Windows7 x64). To avoid that RapidComposer selects the wrong default audio device, please hold down the Alt key when you first start it, and keep holding down until the window opened and you see a message. Then click on Settings / Audio and set your audio device.
Do you experience crashes when you choose a different audio device?

Hi Distortedboy,

this bug is also fixed. I wanted to upload v3.01 today, but I try to add a "safe loading" option now. Don't worry, your composition will not be lost.
I will test the VSTi plugins that cause crashes.

- uninstalled the demo
- set installer to "unblocked"
- ran installer as administrator
- started while holding down ALT (no audio device was then selected)
- the moment I select ASIO in the "Audio API:" drop-down, it crashes
- started as administrator, no audio selected
- again, the moment I select ASIO in the "Audio API:" drop-down, it crashes

first thing first!
Thank you so much for the new Expression value

also drag rhythm issue is gone now!

now the reports
- add Expression to track envelope, draw it and press play : crash "if Envelope Line is open"...
do same thing, after drawing close and reopen it instantly then press to play no problem...

-i am not sure % 100 about this one
my Melody Generator presets causes freeze while switching them via cycle option
i am not sure because i tried with themixtape's melody generator vocal presets and seems they works without any problem,
if i am the only one has this issue i will try to re save my presets in v3 soon and test them again.
(if any one can confirm this, it would really time saver at this point

)

Hi Yıldırım,

I wasn't able to reproduce the crash, maybe I did something wrongly.
I edited Expression as an envelope, but pressing Play did not crash the program.
I would love to fix this.

Has something changed in the latest release? When I play notes on my MIDI controller, I am no longer able to hear the notes being played through RC. It is as if MIDI echo has been disabled. Can anyone else confirm this?

Still trying to get my head around RC, in the editor I have it set to color chord/scale/out-of-scale but when I click the mouse on the screen then move it I get the red notes ?
Also still have problem getting the wav file waveform to show the whole length of the music.

Hello Attila. I believe I figured out what was happening. The composition I last worked on contained all MIDI output tracks and it was closed with a track that was in a selected state. When I start RC and it loads up the last active composition, the composition loads with that track still in a selected state. Unfortunately, I did not realize that the track was still selected, because I was not expecting it. Once I realized what was going on, I unselected the track, and I was back in business.

By the way, the only way I could I figure out how to unselect the track was to click the blank area beneath the last track header:

Perhaps, the procedure that loads up the last active composition should check to see if a tracks are selected and if so, unselects it. Or perhaps the procedure that writes out the state of the last active composition when RC closes should disregard storing a track's selected state.

*EDIT*: I neglected to mention that all of my tracks in the last active composition had their "Device:" set to a MIDI-out device that was not connected at the time when RC loaded up the last active composition containing a track that was still in a selected state; hence no sound was heard when a MIDI key was struck.

Why does ctrl-clicking any minimally sized track cause the MIDI Import tab to become active? One clue is the message box that appears when I switch back to the main composition window:

When I say "minimally-sized" track, I mean a track with the minimum possible vertical size:

I have been having an issue with my JamStix3 (JS3) VST plugin within RC. I have a saved composition with JS3 loaded in a muted track:

When I open the composition in RC, the UI window for JS3 appears with no title bar; it obscures RC, and I am unable to move or dismiss the UI window:

My only option is to somehow slide the RC window over so that I can right click on the header of the track that uses the JS3 plugin to bring up the "Track" dialog box. From there, I can click the "Edit" button for the VST:

Clicking the "Edit" button causes the titlebar portion of the JS3 UI window to display, and then I can move the window out of my way or click the "X" close button in the titlebar of the JS3 UI window to dismiss it:
