Lifetime updates purchasable for a limited time until the end of August.

And an Alpha build of SONAR for OSX
The inevitable question is do the 2 go together? ie if you buy lifetime update does it cover both platforms?

+1
Good question the webpage and the OSX promo vid neither say anything about that either way

An announcement about an announcement about something that is going to happen, at some point. Why does Cakewalk do this to itself?

Isn't this what attracts investors?

Sonar4Mac
it's very easy to massively underestimating the effort required to produce an osx port of a complex windows app, which essentially will have to be a complete rebuild :dog:

I hope not, where is the R&D money gonna come from in case.

Should money that have been earned from Windows users be spent on building a product from scratch on another OS platform

*lol*

it's really none of your f**king business what they invest in - it's not like you've been buying company shares....

Actually if it leads to a clear out of a load of legacy code that could be to everyone's benefit.

agreed, but it's easy to underestimate the effort that this will take, as it'd be a rewrite as opposed to a clear out
sonar is so hooked into windows api, there's no "click click next" conversion tool for this
unless they've been working on this for some time already i expect there will be a big feature gap between the versions until possibly forever
it does open up a much bigger potential market for cakewalk though
and they have a bunch of free alpha testers raring to go
the only recent similar thing i can think of is the mac port of soundforge, how did that go?

n/m I can't be bothered

Not an owner or user of Sonar, but i think this is a good and smart decision, that will only benefit Sonar, and its development. Provided that they know what they're doing, which i would assume though.

So why haven't they been able to fix the bugs in z3ta+ 2 yet ?
