Well, I tried to test Hybrid again. I didnt use it much when i downloaded the demo, and figured that since it hasn't been a month, I'd be able to try it again.(Im also on a different OS.) Wait, demo expired? Two week trial? What?

How can I properly decided if I like a product in two weeks? How can I decided at all if the demo has expired without me using it? :help:

While the time limit might suck, it is a good demo version as there is no limitation (white noise, no saving, etc.) whatsoever for 2 or 3 weeks, if I remember correctly. And frankly, if you don't test something you have downloaded within two weeks, you are probably not very serious about it. Nor is it a secret that their demo versions are time-limited, it says so when you download them...

Two weeks is a short amount of time.

I'm not a fan of the pure demo expired. My life can be kind of chaotic and more than once I've installed a synth to demo it only to have something come up to prevent me from using it. Instead of just dying, why not just just start doing silence bursts?

Exactly my point! :hihi: I have so many plugins cluttering my screen, I forget what's demo and what isn't.

It's all a matter of organization, discipline, etc.

But I agree that switching from unlimited to limited demo mode after two weeks would be a good compromise. Suggest it to Air!

I only remember one plugin where the time-limited demo version probably kept me from buying it, Dune2. Not because I had no time to test it thoroughly, but I was not impressed enough. I suppose it is better by now, but I sure won't buy a pig in a poke, especially when it is such an expensive pig 8) But Hybrid is often available for 30 bucks because so many people have multiple licenses of it...

Dune2 is so good. I almost bought it, but I felt I could do more with SM. Just out of curiosity, what would be a good plugin I could get(apart from hybrid) that I could get with the remaining 30-40-50 after SM discounts?

SM can do most everything, but it's like all purposes synth. For the remaining money, I would choose either more analog (like Monark) or more digital (like Razor) from the market place. This would make a great companion to SM IMO.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Alright, last question, I PROMISE! :hihi:

I've e-mailed KV331, and I qualify to get the Academic discount for Synthmaster(Home-educated, so I wanted to make sure.). As far as I can tell from their website, there are no limitations on the Academic license, the only change is the price. Is this true, or are there any hidden profit caps/the like?

Yes.
I had the academic license two or three years ago when I was student in the Uni studying. There is no difference from the factory license. I sold it also to a student, but my current license is not academic as I'm not a student anymore, too old for this now :hihi:

Synthmaster is good but it always seemed kind of buggy on my system. One huge deciding factor for me when buying a new profuct is how stable it is.

I don't care if it can even make me coffee, if it crashes on a regilar basis or seems unoptimized for what it does, them i'll skip it.
