They actually did fix a lot of bugs in Z3TA 2. Sure you use the latest version?Numanoid wrote:So why haven't they been able to fix the bugs in z3ta+ 2 yet ?aMUSEd wrote:Actually if it leads to a clear out of a load of legacy code that could be to everyone's benefit.

You should ask the last poster in this thread, he seems not too pleasedchk071 wrote:They actually did fix a lot of bugs in Z3TA 2. All the recent Cakewalk releases seem to be huge bugfests and source of endless grief. So my free advice would be: hire some f**cking people who know how program and add some software testers in the mix. Judging by releases from the last year I bet you would not have come up with that ingenious idea yourself.

Well, I'm asking YOU, because you made the statement that they need to fix the bugs in Z3TA 2.
If you haven't tried the latest version, do so, and then make a statement regarding the bugs.
BTW, I'm sure you find a random guy who vents his ass off about anything on the net. Yes, Z3TA 2 always was buggy, but it had a lot of updates recently, and they really fixed a lot.

That's another question, they still need to understand Mac programming, so far I've been less convinced of that going by their Mac plugins, but maybe (hopefully) they have hired some capable Mac people now and are taking the platform more seriously? If so then that could be good for the plugins too.Numanoid wrote:So why haven't they been able to fix the bugs in z3ta+ 2 yet ?aMUSEd wrote:Actually if it leads to a clear out of a load of legacy code that could be to everyone's benefit.

Heads up, Cake has openly said on their forum hat they will not honor lifetime upgrades on X3 Producer to Platinum upgrades like this one:

If you buy it in their shop though the upgrade price to lifetime is pretty good (if you are logged into your account) - that's why I was interested because I have X studio from when I was on Windows (and earlier versions of Producer) and the upgrade price is good but there's no point unless I am certain if I buy it I will get the Mac version too. So far the license in the shop just refers to Windows but that may be just because they haven't got round to changing it.Photo_G wrote:Heads up, Cake has openly said on their forum hat they will not honor lifetime upgrades on X3 Producer to Platinum upgrades like this one:

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

i stopped watching the vid featuring dumb and dumber on cakes website after two minutes as could not digest it. Is porting sonar to osx is the only thing cake was about? and liftime upgrade thing of course. If this is the case, it is certainly a huge announcement for development managers and marketing people at cakes but not for an average joe like me.

The move to Mac makes perfect sense to me, but we might have to step out of the bubble and view it more objectively to understand it.
Some people will only ever use Macs, and never Bootcamp, and not ever care about anything having anything to do with Windows, so to get more exposure for the product, to potentially widen the user base, porting to Mac is a very logical thing to do. Sony seems to be of the same mind having just sold their Win only NLE.
Afaict (Apple excluded obviously) all of the other so-called 'majors' are cross platform except for Sonar & Samp. Even FL is working on a Mac version I think. I actually think Samp had also started to do that and then changed their minds or something later. DP came to Windows so the day of the single OS major daw is kinda slowly coming to an end.

So if it works for me then it is OK, just f**k those users who are reporting recent problems?chk071 wrote:Well, I'm asking YOU, because you made the statement that they need to fix the bugs in Z3TA 2.If you haven't tried the latest version, do so, and then make a statement regarding the bugs.
Indeed, who is that random guy going totally off topic about Alchemy only last weekBTW, I'm sure you find a random guy who vents his ass off about anything on the net.
I guess when it comes to Alchemy it is OK to go ape shit off topic getting personal about the devs, but not Cakewalk stuff

That's not backseat CEO'ing.Numanoid wrote:Backseat CEO much?LawrenceF wrote:The move to Mac makes perfect sense to me, but we might have to step out of the bubble and view it more objectively to understand it.
Backseat CEO'ing is talking about stuff like "investors and R&D" with quite literally no relevant financial information or knowledge about the company, as if you know anything about their investors or R&D processes or expenditures.
Otoh, we can all observe that most major daws are cross platform, we don't need to guess at anything to see that.
