Backseat CEO'ing is also talking about perfect sense, stepping outside the bubble and so on, all based on a simple press release and an 8 minute youtube vid.
Otoh, we can all observe that most major daws are cross platform, we don't need to guess at anything to see that.
Well Logic aint a major DAW then

It is, you apparently just don't understand the definition of the English word "most". :hihi:

in that case JRRshop better be honouring refunds.
Well, theyve removed the product page from their website now, but CW are alleging that JRRshop were told repeatedly that it wasnt going to be eligible, so now Im somewhat, erm, peeved because that's now in 'deliberate false advertising' territory.

On their own website it does say in the FAQ:
Can I purchase lifetime updates from a retailer?

Yes! Any purchase of SONAR Platinum from a retailer during the time period of June 1st - August 31st, 2016 will qualify for lifetime updates. Please make sure you redeem your code before the offer expires.
http://www.cakewalk.com/June-2016#SONAR4Mac

so this is misleading. Maybe a case of the person on the forum not being correct?

well, if you look at the thread on the CW forums, it was CW staff, and they've said it repeatedly. some crap about a 'wrong SKU' . Plus the statement " We won't be dealing with any customer service issues due to this issue."

So if it works for me then it is OK, just f**k those users who are reporting recent problems?
The internet bristles from issues people have with Windows. Personally, i don't have a problem with Windows, like probably 95% of the Windows users. Should i think now that Windows is a buggy piece of crap, because one of the unfortunate 5% believe so?

As i wrote, you should check the latest version, and judge for yourself, instead of repeating what someone else wrote. I won't argue with you on a hypothetical base, when it's so easy to see for yourself.

That seems at odds with their FAQ then.

Oh well, JRRshop responded with a refund fast enough, that's something.

Anyone know who's actually selling the 'right' SKUs at decent pricing. Audiodeluxe? Sigh.

Oh FFS.

Looks like the options I have that are available now are at least £50 more expensive.
And am I entitled to 'From any Producer or Platinum' at $199/£140 or am I f**ked on the 'From any Professional or Studio' at $299/£210.
Ive got X3 Producer, bought, and Sonar Professional, after a full-year subscription, so how the hell can I tell?

And it turns out Cakewalk themselves want £175 but dont bother to specify what 'SKU' or whatever it is so I can shop around without being f**ked over again.

Sigh again.

It is. and I've been dealing with one of their support staff over PM about it most of the day. They have some real winners over there now. Based on the customer service that I have received so far, it appears that arguing, finger-pointing, and bad attitude are going to be the norm going forward. It's too bad...

And now Im being offered my original purchase again, seemingly resolved with CW as to eligibility.

My head hurts.

Cakewalk have become like the Dilbert anti-hero, 'Big Dave, hulking backwards'.

I go over to the Reaper webpage every few weeks, and there's always
something new. The hardest part of upgrading is just remembering to check.

Cakewalk's absentee owners might need to slip past security, and shut 'em down,
and schedule a major announcement for July 1st

The old Dimension Pro, Rapture, and z3ta+ are still working.
Leaving well enough alone.
I'm not brave enough to try a new Rapture Pro installer. :dog:

Well this is not entirely true...

When we buy a company's products,we are in effect,"investing" in that company...

We may not hold the share certificates, but we are still financially involved in the process...
