And it was indeed resolved... all sorted out.

Looks like Cakewalk is able to talk me out of more upgrade money  . I'm VERY happy that Cakewalk is going to improve the CPU load-balancing with plugins, I've been wanting this to be improved for years and was VERY surprised a lot more people was not complaining about this issue. A pretty car is nothing without a good motor. Sonar is far behind other top DAWs in this regard and cause I work at 96khz this CPU core-balancing problem is even worsened. This should've been addressed long ago, but I'm happy to see Cakewalk have finally listened to those of us who have been complaining and are now finally going to address this. This one issue causes MANY different problems and can force one to upgrade their computer far too soon.

The life-time upgrades are a steal-of-a-deal for $150 and even though money is tight right now I still will be buying this upgrade bargain this July, simply cause it will save me a lot of money in the long run. I like being able to scratch companies off my expensive upgrades list. IK Multimedia was scratched off that list when I bought a bunch of Gear Credits for dirt cheap price last year wich will allow me to get new IK plugins and upgrades for many years without needing to spend any more money and when I buy this Calkwalk's life-time upgrade I can scratch them off my list now as well and just enjoy new upgrades forever without spending more money  .

Truthfully I would NOT be buying the new Cakewalk life-time upgrade deal if they would not be finally addressing the core Audio-Engine issues by improving the load-balancing. Hopefully Cakewalk will consider Hybrid-buffers next cause separate buffers for Mixing and Tracking solves problems that many people like myself have with Sonar as well. Looks like Cakewalk is going in the right direction and has now convinced me that my purchase of Sonar Platinum last summer was not in vaine and that it's worth staying on the Cakewalk's bandwagon. They HAVE to continue addressing my demographics concerns if they want our money, we often seem to get forgotten or overlooked.

T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.

Brilliant...

But they will announce the bankruptcy after they have signed up the lifetime believers...

Sort of what Tascam did to us with Gigastudio, just after the GS4 release
This is my concern. I just paid them a lot of money in December for the Platinum subscription and their synth updates, and sold Cubase. Lifetime covers SONAR only. What about all the extra stuff that has been included in Platinum, will the lifetime not include anything but SONAR itself? If so, we will still be paying a lot for all the rest, but will have shelled out $200 extra - on top of the subscriptions I just bought - for essentially nothing better than the current model. Am I missing something? I haven't gotten any emails from Cakewalk...what's that about? Is what the lifetime includes clear enough to be meaningful let alone compelling?

The SONAR OS X Alpha will be a free preview this fall. We are still early on in the process. To answer your question though, a license would entitle you to any OS. Typical for any company in on our space. So if you had the lifetime version, it would just be a new installer. But again, it's just Alpha right now to be upfront and that will be free to the public.

If the Gibson wingnuts who now offer support on Stanton products are anything to go by (their turntable expert actually asked me publicly in their forum "What is a platter" when talking about a turntable hahaha) I would rather eat my own face than touch anything Gibson have a hand in.
Duh

They aren't because Gibson doesn't handle support or anything else having to do with Cakewalk. They simply own the company now and let them continue to do their own thing. Gibson only bought Cakewalk because the owner is a Sonar user.

Cake has some great support on their forums. Takes a while to get an email back from their support though.

Of course I had to jump on the lifetime free updates to Sonar Platinum. I look forward to next year when they announce Sonar Titanium.

The deal expires August 31st. So what will the purchase options be after that date?

Back to normal pricing, most likely.

So where's this 'big announcement' thread? Or do I have to pick the info out of this thread? People start threads about nothing, but when there should be a real announcement, there is none. Curious.
