I'm having a serious problem bouncing tracks in SL2, namely, it doesn't work :(

Every time I try a mix down the computer just freezes after a few seconds. So far I've tried removing plugins, I've changed the voltage to the RAM in case it's underpowered, I did all sort of system checks (apart from one..) I tried pushing the computer using other software to see if any of the components crack.. but all unsuccessful

there's a chance it's my RAM. A while ago I replaced my RAM with 1GIG of kingston. I haven't bounced anything in cubase for a while so it could be the RAM (although I can't seem to fault it in other programs)

I want to do a mem test but I've chucked my floppy drive in the bin.

So before I'm going through the trouble of installing a new floppy I was wondering if any of you had any other ideas?

absolutely nothing
the computer just freezes and that's it

I had a similar thing with Sonar and then it was a plugin.. now I can't even bounce 10 seconds of a cubase synth. whenever I bounce or use freeze.. that's it.. f**ked

it could still be the RAM but I have bounced and frozen tracks many times after installing the RAM I just remembered

can you export audio? I mean, that is essentially the same thing as freeze?

Hehe.. here is a good tip .. do you have enough harddisk space? :D

yes, hence bouncing :P
freeze or audio mix down.. both the same problem

only have 81Gig left on the drive though.. shall I get a bigger one?

I think the file is getting corrupt now with all the crashes.. I think I can almost kiss my track goodbye

move you vst folder temporily..
try opening the track.. ignore the errors of missing vst and etc.. then bounce..

if it works.. its one of the vst.. then teh fun part where u go and try to figure out which one. :/

otherwise.. i have no idea.

if you think you have your timing to agressive on ram.. turn it to as slow as it goes (unless the setting are on auto.. then leave it)

it's on optimal, which should be save settings

other audio apps are f**king up as well now
so it's probably a driver (or faulty ram)

will have to do a mem test soon

What soundcard do you have?
I have an audiophile and its drivers are a little corrupt. It works for musicapplications, but not for voicechat in msn. M-Audio gave me some very complicated instructions .. removing virtual stuff from cmp .. uh.. command prompt or something .. DOS-interface.. thats easy  :help: :? :x

Even if you uninstall drivers, some parts can still remain deep down in the darker side of windows registry.. yuk! I bet there are some spiders and rats there. Lots of bugs.

I've got a 6fire for at least an other day, with those horrible terratec drivers.. but having said that, they've never given me too much trouble so far

I'm getting my Luna soon and a full system install will follow :(
