Hi hope someone can please help me here.
I recently purchased a few waves no brainer plugs is. multi tap, q10 and axx.
I've been on waves site and downloaded the waves licence installer and activated my licenses on my system, which was fine. The waves installer also installed the plugs on my PC...I think, after ticking which plugins I wanted to install.
On opening reaper and going to select vst I cannot find any wave plugins. I've tried refreshing and even restarting the computer to no avail.
Checking my vst folders 32 & 64 bit, the only thing I find is a waves shell dill file.
Am I missing something here?
PS. I ve also installed and reinstalled with no change.
No sign of waves plugs in reaper (solved)

I've been able to fix this by deleting all the lines that begin with WaveShell_VST... in reaper-vstplugins.ini and clearing out reaper-vstshells.ini. (Make sure to back the files up before you do this.) The location of these files differs depending on which OS you're on. Mine are in:
C:\Users\Console\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\reaper-vstshells.ini
C:\Users\Console\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\reaper-vstplugins.ini
Then restart Reaper. It seems that it only scans for Waves plugins once.

Hello.
I definitely appreciate your help if possible!
I tried both :
1.Deleting lines that have waves shell in the ini files as indicated by one of the subscribers.
and
2. Using Shell2VST to extract individual dlls from the shell
and placing them in my VST folder.
I was able to properly load a plugin called Vocal Rider once and
was really glad that it worked.
However, the second time I tried to load the plugin into a fx slot,
it just went back to loading but in red font. In other words, I can't actually open it.
What would you say is the cause for this phenomenon?
I am so wanting to use the plugin and the Waves support only gives you
a reply saying Reaper is not supported.
Well, it is really about time they do since Reaper is a very cool and versatile
DAW.
Anyway, I look forward to receiving your help and
thank you in advance!

BUMP,
Just found out the hard way that waves AU are not supported in reaper (VST's are working, after uninstalling and reinstalling several times). Think long and hard before taking advantage of these no brainer deals. The three layers of software management I had to go through has added about 500 megs of disk data to my machine for a simple plug as well... what a cluster. I feel like I'm the bad guy.
Just thought I should make sure people have the opportunity to learn this BEFORE jumping on the deals.

O.K. In reaper, if you go to the plugin preferences, there is an odd script built in there that prevents reaper from using waves (don't ask my why, there is no reason why, other than reaper isn't supported). I deleted that script and it appears to be working now. Haven't had problems yet.
In bidule I am still only able to see half the waves plugins and I'm sure that has something to do with the utterly ridiculous and shoddy protection scheme. Nothing I can do about that. If it's not a major guild member that engages in over reactive and prohibitive protection schemes it is simply deemed "not supported". At least I've got it working in reaper. Hope this helps someone else.

heyyyy, hooooo, what ya know.... I spent all day doing a complete fresh install of my hard disk from scratch and I got it to work! shows in reaper, shows in bidule, Don't ask how, don't ask me why, but I'm doing a complete back up of my drive right now in this state and putting it in a very safe place.
