Tangle: new modular FM synth

I got excited just seeing the screenshot of the video. It's definitely a cool thing! Bought.

That said, any time I try to create a feedback path -- oscillator output to its phase in, whether through a delay or filter or whatever -- it crashes as soon as I play a note. Feedback in FM synths is pretty common. (This was in 32 bit, with Maschine hosting it.)

Wow, this is a great instrument...I mean, really really great. However, it's got some weird sticky issue when switching presets in FL Studio -- Windows 8 user -- and froze up on me so I gave it the ole' three-finger salute. I'm very impressed by the feather-light CPU hit, some patches only taking up 4%! That's some fancy footwork right there!

I'm just curious. You've been working on Mangle for quite some time. How's it going?

Guys, please try make wavetable blending, i.e. transition between waves in osc (especially in manual mode) - it works for you or not ?

Bought it. Awesome device! But it isn't the most stable yet

Had random crashes with random edits. But a fun start and i hope this will get some love to really get this to shine

Hi there, I think the UI is unclear right now. There is a small button above the wave number (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4). This must be on (orange) for the wave to be activated for blending.

Hey you got this widdershins. You did a great job on mangle. You've got the opportunity to get this right with out too many other distractions now. Don't let anybody bring you down. Be professional. Win 10 64bit. Presonus v3. Just got a crash.

I'm really excited with this synth!

I can highly recommend Bitwig Studio and it's sandboxing feature for testing this rather crashy synth.
If you set Preferences -> Plug-in management to "Each plug-in" (which means each plugin instance will run in it's own process), only the Tangle itself will crash, neither the application nor the other plugins in your project. You just click on "Restart Plug-in" on the Tangle device and are back up working instead of restarting your host and loading your project all the time.
Since BWS saves the plugin state on idle/not playing regularly, you don't even lose your work when it crashes.

I see many crashes here but the plugin has a lot of promise once it's stable.

1 request; i would love to see the main detail screen being 'toggable'. So that it isn't closing when clicking on an empty area. Maybe a bit like the device list from Ableton? Would be handy
